Once again I was just trying to save Ma Bell anymore aggravation than she was feeling. As I stated before she gave good advice--if the OP takes it it's up to them. I just feel she might have been starting to "beat a dead horse"--so to speak. I've been wrapped up in a few "heated debates" on these boards myself and know how sometimes emotions can come into play. But sometimes I guess that's what also makes these boards somewhat enteraining (along with informative). I'm sure (in YHO) Celebrity is as honest as the day is long--however, certain instances have occurred over the past several months that lead me to believe otherwise (IMHO). Because I remembered that you had said you were a one time cruiser with Celebrity ( March 30, 2004) I thought you might like some suggestions on how to solve your problem. Obviously I was wrong. At this point your only motivation seems to be to convince everyone that Celebrity is dishonest. They certainly don't have an answer for you yet and as I have said before their CS department has some problems. As I pointed out some CS reps are good and some are undereducated and undermotivated.
When you tell us that you have been on many X cruises that is obviously an exaggeration. Does that make you dishonest. I don't think so...you are justifyably frustrated. However the time does come to stop the ranting and do something positive for yourself.

I sincerely hope this works out for you and that you have a wonderful wedding and honeymoon. That was from a thread regarding captains club! I booked one X cruise a Galaxy cruise which was why I sated I thought I might have missed a mailing of a credit coupon. I have sailed X twice. Not that this has anything do with this topic again I will answer anything you ask. I don't stretch the truth. Stop trying to make it seem like everyone else is in the wrong here when it is X. And Ma Bell please read through this thread and others - I don’t have to convince anyone the X is dishonest they see it for themselves first hand. I am somewhat happy though that you pulled a comment regarding captains club and tried to make it seem as if it applied here - IMO it proves my point that you will refuse to see that X is not perfect... BB5953 -- you are inaccurate in your statement that I feel Celebrity can do no wrong. I don't feel that way at all (and how would you know how I feel?). I also don't believe that Celebrity is being "intentionally" dishonest with its customers, that makes no sense to me from a business point of view.

John -- I also will not get into a debate with you on this subject. We have posted to each other before on these boards and you have some valid points. I guess we need to "agree to disagree" and move on.

I too believe it's probably a case of Celebrity CS agents truly not knowing anything or they may just be uneducated/untrained in certain matters. Obviously I'm hoping if this is the case Celebrity will take it to heart and attempt to train their CS people better. I too am one that would like to hear "I'm sorry but I don't know--I will find out and get back to you asap"--I realize in todays world of instant communication and instant gratification that alot of people expect an answer [B]NOW[/B]!! Here are your own words. You say you have been on "many" X cruises that you enjoyed. In your post in March of this year you said you had been on only one X cruise. That is why I attempted to help you.

If I thought you were an experienced cruiser I wouldn't have tried to make helpful suggestions. I've been on 14 Celebrity Cruises and many others..I don't feel the need to advertise my experience. As I've said many times in this thread, I don't think Celebrity is perfect. I've had many good experiences with them and a few awful experiences. My only point to you is it's much easier to solve problems with a positive attitude than a negative one. You only hurt yourself. If ranting on makes you feel better. Ma Bell - As stated before (a few times) there are no other 10 days cruises going out of Miami or Ft. Lauderdale after my wedding and before 4/11-4/12 when we need to be back in FL. I have just read through this entire thread.

Seems to me that BB5953 is so upset over this that even if the cruise is not cancelled she is not going to be happy with X. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying BB should not be upset or angry but from everything I have read I really don't think this cruise is going to work out no matter what happens.

If I were that upset I would be making other plans.

My brother just received a call from Victoria. The 1-28 cruise is cancelled.

They offered him several options including:
Feb 28 11 day Summit
Mar 11 10 day Summit
June 30 14 day Zenith
June 30 Millenium (7 day with a 25% credit)

$200 cabin credit

Sorry other 1-28 cruisers, we won't be together on the Summit

He did not pressure her for any reason for the cancellation and she did not offer any.

Our April 11, 2005 cruise for 11 days on the Summit out of Ft. Lauderdale is according to X now on hold. They claim that a final decision has not yet been made what they are going to do. Best guess on their part is that in the next 2 weeks they will make a decision.

While this is still 11 months away, if cancelled or given to some group, I'm going to be very pissed. We have the penthouse suite booked. All we can do is wait at this time.

If they are offering a switch to the March 11 10 day cruise for the cancelled 1/28 cruise, I'm guessing my booking on March 11 on the Summit is safe? I don't think they'd switch cancelled cruisers to a cruise that may also get cancelled, right? But why would the April cruise be "on hold." Hmmm, this will be our first cruise on Celebrity, and I'm getting a little nervous with all the switcheroos!

I feel that that is a demeaning statement . To me it implies that you feel the original poster has no right to be upset about what is happening to her and that her problems are petty compared to the 'real' and 'serious' problems of other people.
That statement does not read to me as an attempt to help but rather as an attempt to denigrate and shame the original poster.
