Hi - we are new to NCL and just booked the Dawn for next July in a Deluxe Owner Suite (w/2 balconies) and was looking for info on the room (10006) and the suite perks?

Thanks so much! Really looking forward to the suite on NCL....

With had the DOS (SA) on the Star in April. With the owner's suite you get all the other perks, like breakfast in Cagney's, etc. and you get 3 bottles of alcohol (there is some flexibility there) and they restock the pop and water in your fridge the entire time for free! You can have any of the deserts delivered from the specialty restaurants to your room for free. If you want anything just ask your butler or the concierge, the worst they can say is no, but that didn't seem to happen very often!

Thanks for the info - so you know if there is a list of the available alcohol that you can choose from?

Also, can you bring on mixers (like Margarita mix w/o alcohol) to use with the alcohol that you get?

Thanks!

We are traveling with the kids on 1/20 and have the 2 bedroom family suite (SC). I'll write a blog from the ship with all of the ongoings and suite perks. I would've picked your cabin if I didn't need the 2 separate rooms and 2 full baths. Enjoy.

We went to Bermuda in that suite in April. LOVED it!! If you search the cabin number on here, you should be able to find my pictures of it.

We had an awesome cabin steward and always had a full refridge.

The only downside that I can think of was you cannot use the front balcony while underway, much much too windy. But while in port, or when traveling into port when you are going very slow, it is an awesome place to be. The side balcony is kind of enlcosed which was nice. You can stand on either balcony and wave to crew on the bridge, lol although they usually are not paying much attention to the crazy folks on the balcony waving at them!

If you've never travelled in the front of the ship, I noticed a lot more ocean motion, not enough to make you sick, but much more noticable.

When you get there you may want to check the door for my claw marks from when they dragged me out unwillingly on our last day ;)

You also get free mixers with your alcohol.

The concierge from Miami HQ should be contacting you by email to ask your liquor and other preferences after you make your final payment. I booked our suite last January, made final payment the first week of December and got an email from the concierge a day or two later. They ask for your pillow, towel, alcohol and soda preferences and also what time you plan to board so they can alert the ship concierge.

Last year was our first cruise in a suite and it was just outstanding. I hope you will have a wonderful time!

Just to clarify a bit, the DOS are the ones on 12 and are category SA. The ones on 10 are OS and are SB. The ones on 12 don't have any balconies. We were in 10006 in June and it is a great room.

There are a ton of light switches. The menus, Latitudes info, binoculars are in the little area by the white couch. The tv in the living room has a dvd player as does the one in the main bedroom.

There is some wear on the wood in areas and the light switches. They never covered up the hole where the old tv was either. The light switches for the side balcony are on the wall close to the tv. There is a night light so to speak in the bathroom that you can control with the switches by the main bed. They had ketchup, mustard, A1 in the cabinet by the dining table.

I was lucky enough to be in the penthouse suite next to the OS with 2 balconies on the Dawn in July 2011 and our wonderful neighbors exchanged tours of each of our suites. All I can say is that their suite seemed to go on and on! Tons of room, two balconies, 'free' liquor, and all the perks! It was beautiful!

We also found that the balcony is totally wind free even when underway as long as you are sitting down and under the rail. Although our cruise was smooth as glass, I think that if you are sitting on the balcony, the wind won't be a problem. I hope you enjoy your cruise! :)

We were in 10506 on the Dawn (opposite side Owner's Suite), thought my DW deserved a special one time suite trip. Big mistake - now that is the ONLY room she will travel in. Yup, cost me the Owner's Suite again this year. Lol, You will love it.

That is exactly what I am afraid of!!:)

Hi Max (we were on same cruise - opposite sides).

Tam - couple of other things came to mind. The shower you can turn on the top and the jets at the same time (or the wand). There are shades in the round window and side window in the balcony (the side balcony has a window into the bathroom).

We had Michael as the room steward and he was great. If you like hot chocolate you can ask for some packets and use the coffee maker to make hot water. We too didn't find the balcony windy while underway while sitting on the loungers.

If you are going to Bermuda, the ship alternates which way it docks. More often it points out to sea so you'll be facing ocean side although when we went we faced the dock. Not a big deal either way.

Dex. Thanks for the info. The girls will probably want the hot chocolate!, interesting about alternating the way it docks, I have not heard of this before... But as long as I am docked I don't care what side I am on!!!

I didn't catch earlier that there were more than two of you. We had our two kids and NCL had the new sofas in the room since they changed the rooms to quad occupancy.

The new sofa (as a bed) was the largest and most comfortable that we've seen on NCL. It was big enough where the kids could take the cushions and use as separators between them while sleeping since our DS is a crazy leg sleeper. Even using the dividers they had plenty of room. In the a.m. if we were still sleeping they'd go to the side balcony and play games on the table.

To make the hot chocolate, take one of the coffee cups, fill with water, use the steamer to heat it then add the chocolate. There are a ton of glasses in the room. Our DS would put the ginger ale into the champagne glasses.

The tub in the bathroom has jets and there is a tv with remote in there although there is very few offerings as far as channels/shows.

Glad to hear it about the sofa. I was wondering howmitmwould be! My daughter and her BFF ( both 14) should fit nicely and have plenty of room! It's still 7 months away but I am very excited!
