lgionet Posted January 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2013 Someone told me you can send your kids to a program while you do an excursion ? Is that true ? Has anyone done this ? I don't know how comfortable I am with this. Please share your experience if you have done this. We are on the Emrald Princess. We want to do a 4 hour tour in Dominica but it is not suitable for kids. Thanks !
junglejane Posted January 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2013 Yes, you can do this assuming your kid is old enough to be eligible for the kids' program (ages 3-12) and you register him/her once onboard. Usually they want you to notify them the day before if you plan to use the Fun Zone on port days. That way they make sure they have enough staff. And your kid will not be permitted to sign himself or herself out on a port day. Also, does your excursion start at a time that is after the Fun Zone opens? If you are you going on a ship sponsored tour, I think they will let you drop off early if necessary. But if you are DIY or on a private tour, then you probably have to wait until the Fun Zone opens to sign your kid in.
1025cruise Posted January 6, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2013 I could be mistaken, but I believe that if you choose to do this, you have no option but to do a ship's tour.

junglejane Posted January 6, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 6, 2013 I agree with Boulders. No requirement that you be doing a ship's tour.
