Rare erewhon Posted February 8, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2013 We sailed on the Oosterdam December 19th to the 2nd January. At Dinner on Christmas Eve, we were surprised that the vases of fresh flowers had been removed from all the tables in the Vista Dining Room, when I asked, was told "getting ready for tomorrow". The vases of flowers returned to the tables on the 29th. Is it now routine for the flowers to be removed during a cruise? This is our first cruise where flowers were not always on the tables. PathfinderEss Posted February 8, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2013 I think that can happen when they are getting ready to replace the flowers with new ones, especially when your cruise is longer then 7 days. Seems to me they do replace flowers every 7 days.
wander Posted February 8, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2013 Did they perhaps have some special, center pieces or decorations for Christmas? You did say Christmas Eve and that they referenced "the next day".
sail7seas Posted February 8, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2013 They may have expected a delivery of fresh flowers in an upcoming port and the florist planned to refresh all the vases when the delivery was loaded aboard. Could be a 'bunch' of reasons.
Krazy Kruizers Posted February 8, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 8, 2013 There have been a couple of occassions when we did not have flowers on the tables in the dining room. One -- the flowers were dead and no new ones had arrived at the ship. When we have been on Code Red -- the vases of flowers were removed from the tables in the dining room as well as in the lounges.
