Amtrak from Miami

Miami's Amtrak station is 15-20 miles from the cruise port. If I do self-embark, do you think I'd have enough time to make a 11:30 AM train departure? I'm okay with arriving a day early, but would rather not add on another day at the end of the cruise.

The train staion is farther away than the MIA airport - I would plan on a 25+ minute cab ride.

 

I still would go for it -- the early check-in/security for a train is not comparable to the airport. As long as you are off the ship with your bags and clear of customs/immigration by 9:00 or so -- which should not be a challenge - you should be fine. :cool:

yes you can do it as long as you get off early and take a taxi . . .

 

don't panic .... people CAN make airplanes by this time too.

Just wanted to circle back to thank you both. My cruises and Amtrak experience has always been more to the north than to the south. I'm glad to know I won't need to spend a post-cruise night in Miami.
