Godfrey Review- Carnival Destiny 3/28-4/4

The beach was fantastic but my kids prefered the pool which was equally gorgeous. We ordered a ton of food and it was like $30. To give you an idea we fed 4 adults and 2 kids and we could have made a doggy bag.

I can't remember the name but there is a specialty drink ................make sure you get one it is great!!

We wanted a quiet "family" beach atmosphere and that is exactly what we found. I would have loved to spend the day there and will the "next" time icon_biggrin.gif

I have a few pictures if you would like to see them just email me and I will give you a link.

Good luck deciding ~ Jon

Jon: Thanks for the information. I am surprised about the cost of food...expected it to be just the opposite which is great. Did you spend time at Sapphire when you did Godfrey's tour. You get 2 hours there, correct?

Have to agree with Jon, Sapphire Beach was great. Rather than simply dropping you off, Godfrey takes you through the lobby, introduces you to someone at the desk to speak with if you need anything, then proceeds on to the beach and points out the restaurant, bar, and facilities.

As the above posters have noted, Coki makes sense if you're heavily into snorkeling or want to see Coral World, but Sapphire is gorgeous, also has clear waters and good snorkeling, and the resort facilities are top-notch. And there's no entrance fee, unlike Magen's Bay. There is a fee for the chairs, but by the 2 p.m. time that Godfrey drops you off, many will have been paid for and then vacated. The hotel doesn't seem to mind if someone else uses them gratis for the rest of the afternoon. There are no beach umbrellas, but you don't need them as there are many small trees along the back edge of the beach that offer excellent shade.

Also looking forward to seeing Jon's pictures, some of ours from Sapphire (and of the Godfrey tour in general) are in the link below, under our signature.

We just returned from our cruise and we also used Godfrey. My Brother-in-law and Mother even loved it. Our whole van voted for Sapphire Beach and we really enjoyed it.Water was so clear.Godfrey is worth every penny plus. Weather was great. You will not regret your tour with Godfrey.

We are taking the tour next week and I have 2 questions.

What do you do with all the jewerly you purchased while at the beach? What about lunch ? Should we bring lunch or can you purchase lunch at Sapphire beach

Godfrey locks everything up in the cab of his truck....seems like most people did so there were plenty of bags in there.

You can eat at Sapphire there is a restuarant right on the beach but we chose to eat by the pool. The food was great and it was less crowded once we walked down the beach some.

I would say if you want more beach time it would be best to eat before because we spent alot of time ordering/waiting/eating. But we used every minute of shopping that we could so we didn't mind giving up beach time.....Hope this helps...have a fantastic time!!!
