Disembarkation in Vancouver

The ships are generally along side shortly after 0600 and people self-disembarking are usually starting to walk off soon after seven. Allow 30 minutes max to clear customs and you should be on the curb at Canada Place by 0800, you are then about 10 minutes to the Pacific Central Station by cab and about a $10 fare. It is tight and there are no guarantees. A suggestion would be that you may care to look into Quick Shuttle that operates from Canada Place and on certain days even has an express service, because of Amtrak's floating fares it may be about $13 pp cheaper than Quick Shuttle but when you factor in the cab fare....well you can do the math. Is the stress of making it worth the savings?

Putterdude, you always have the best answers.:)

Still on topic but switching up to share a different option and experience. Once we came into Canada Place, got onto the light rail to the train station and dropped off our luggage where they will hold your luggage for you, for free. We then spent the day in Vancouver (absolutely beautiful city) exploring everything that was walkable.

We then took the light rail back to the station and took the early evening train to Seattle. The cost is about the same as the bus but the ride is so much more beautiful because it follows the shoreline pretty much the entire way.

We had already booked our hotel in Seattle and already told them we would be arriving late. The following day we had the hotel hold our luggage and we explored a museum in Seattle, had a great lunch, then took the light rail directly to the airport for our evening flight back home.

We were amazed at how easy and inexpensive it was to do. We now want to do it again, perhaps in the fall, but spend more time in Vancouver...perhaps rent a car to do more in-depth exploring.

Rather than wait for a cab, walk to the SkyTrain station and ride (three?) stops to the train/bus terminal. Trains run at least every five minutes that time of day (they might be more frequent - I can't recall the morning rush headways) and you're assured a seat because you're departing from the terminal stop.

I'd have no concerns whatsoever about catching your desired departure.
