Hi Susan, Thank you for your comments and best wishes for Morgan.

I hope I can talk Morgan into just that; cruising on the Pride. Right now he says he thinks he's through with cruising. I hope that is just a temporary reaction because this one was not our best since he was not feeling very well.

We have been on the Miracle and the Legend and enjoyed the layout of both. Since the Pride is a Spirit class ship. too. I know we'd like it.

I won't push anything right now, but believe me, I will try to convince him that he will start off the cruise feeling well rested since Baltimore is a mere 90 minutes away. Keep your fingers crossed for me that my plan will work. LOL

We enjoyed the Valor very much. Don't know if you've read my review. Be sure to read GA Pearl's two reviews of the Valor. Her reviews are fantastic. Have a great time. Have a Chocolate Mocha Getaway for me.

Oh.....yes ma'am!!! I certainly read your Valor review and GAPearls too. You two write the most inclusive, informative reviews I've seen on here & I THANK YOU both for it. I'm so excited for the Valor and the Southern Caribbean ... part and parcel to the day by day details ... wow; just wow!!! :)

I'll definitely give the Chocolate Mocha Getaway a try. I'm normally more of a mojito girl, but that looks good!! I plan on trying out the Cheers Program this go-round and a few new drinks anyway.

I really like the Spirit class ships as well. The Pride is so easy to get around on and I have nothing but good things to say about embarkation/debarkation in Baltimore. They do a bang up job!

I hope you can talk Morgan into it......all the sea time is SO relaxing.

Susan

Hello SOROR. Thanks so much for your great review. Praying for your husband's speedy recovery

I am sorry I have not responded sooner, but I didn't realize how tired I was from the cruise, Morgan's surgery and his recovery. I have taken a record number of naps during this period, so I guess my body was telling me to take it easy, too.

To all of you who have posted, thank you SO MUCH for your prayers and encouraging comments about Morgan's surgery and recovery. He had his two week post surgery appointment today. He is healing well, but his surgeon said it may take 6-8 weeks before he's totally healed. No problem, we have nothing but time.

I have really enjoyed hearing from each of you.

Happy sails to those of you cruising soon !

The review is written in Word so I don't lose it, the photos are in Photobucket so let the review begin. Here's hoping my plan works.

Ah, it has been a week since my return to the real world, the one here on land. We heard that last ‘DING,’ as we exited the Carnival Breeze last Sunday on March 10, 2013.

Yes, Calamity Jane is back at the laptop once again. We are Jane (70) and Morgan (74,) from the state of Delaware, on our fifth cruise since discovering the joy of cruising in 2008. Seems we are trying to make up for lost time. Bonnie,( a few years younger than we are) the mother of our son’s best friend, decided to join us on the cruise. It was Bonnie’s first cruise and did she make the best of it. She did it all, including dancing with Ken Burns in the middle of his serenade, performing Karaoke, and going home to Raleigh, NC with a Ship on a Stick.

Back in 2010, I joined the Roll Call for a group called the Miracle Maniacs and have been a Maniac ever since. We cruised with the Maniacs on the Miracle in 2011 so when a Maniac Reunion Cruise on the Breeze for March 2 – March 10, 2013 was planned, we were right there, ready to sail once again.

Let the adventure begin. On February 27, we flew to Ft. Lauderdale so we could visit our son and daughter-in-law who live in Hollywood, FL for a few days before the cruise. It seemed that we were well on our way to a wonderful vacation.

Let me tell you, things aren’t always what they seem. This vacation would soon prove to be a small step down from wonderful, but good, never the less. For whatever reason, Morgan was suffering from terrible lower back pain by our second day in Hollywood. He was miserable just moving around. Our son suggested that he might benefit from getting a massage so that plan was put into place. Morgan had never had a massage and wasn’t sure if as a kidney transplant recipient if there would be any restrictions so we called his doctor first to get an ok. No problem. The massage did help a bit.

Our first Maniac reunion event was going back to the Bimini Boatyard in FLL for a pre-cruise dinner just as we had done in 2011 the night before the Maniacs sailed on the Miracle. Nineteen of us had a good time with old friends as well as meeting new Maniacs. So far, so good, things were proceeding as planned. We had good drinks, good food and a good time. Let the fun begin. Bring on the Breeze the M.O.B. group (Maniacs On Board) is ready for tomorrow.

I am excited to read this review! We are getting married on the Breeze in April, but I just enjoy your reviews :)

Wow, I'm back. I was scanning the threads, saw Calamity Jane and thought, 'hmmmm, someone else uses that name.' DUH, then I realized it was MY review.

I apologize to those who posted this summer. Somehow I missed seeing your posts so I never responded.

Once again, thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes for Morgan. I am happy to report that he is doing very well. We celebrated his 75th birthday on Sept. 5. His doctors are all pleased with his numbers. LOL, at this age, you are judged by your blood pressure, your blood sugar, and this that and the other.

I am thrilled to report that we have a cruise on the books for Nov. 30, 2014 on the Carnival Pride which will be leaving the port of Baltimore for the last time. Since we live in Delaware, it is only a 90 minute drive for us which eliminates that pre-cruise fatigue from flying to FL.

Morgan had said he didn't want to go on any more cruises, which broke my heart, but I had to respect that. Lo and behold one day about a month ago, I was surfing here on CC when he glanced over at my laptop and said, "Ok, where are you today?" I said I was on the Pride and since it was so close, I thought we should try it. He said, "If you will go to Puerto Rico, I'll go on another cruise." He watches Andrew Zimmerman who eats all that weird food. Andrew had been in PR and Morgan liked what he saw. I have never liked to watch Andrew, but he is now my new best friend.

It was a Sunday eveing; I contacted our travel agent who found this cruise for us. PERFECT. I booked it that very night before Morgan could change his mind.

It is 8 days, Baltimore, Grand Turk, St. Thomas, St.Kitts, St.Maarten and San Juan ! YAY. We will spend two days in San Juan, then fly back on Southwest non-stop to Baltimore and make that short drive back home. I am SO excited ! The Spirit class ships are just the right size for us. We've been on the Legend and the Miracle, so now off to sail the Pride.

The prices were good, the ports are great and best of all, we're cruising again. Anybody want to join us ? I'd love to meet you all.

Thanks, Tranquilreign, How EXCITING, getting married on the Breeze ! Wow, I love weddings, I love cruising, you've got both going on, what a blast that will be. Congratulations to you and best wishes for a long, smooth sailing marriage. I'll be looking for a review and lots of pictures in May. I'll even give you until June so you have time for writing thank you notes first.

Hi Phatbachelor, I'm glad you enjoyed my review. Your parents should join us on a cruise. Your Ma and my husband can sit and talk about how they don't understand what the big deal is about being in the middle of the ocean, riding around on islands that all look alike and all seem to have mountains with hairpin turns that drivers take like they are NASCAR drivers. Meanwhile, your Pops can hit the casinos, and I can wander the ship talking to anybody and everybody about whatever we can find to talk about.

So, you mentioned your Ma and Pops, what about you ? Where are you on the scale of ' eh and love to cruise ?'
