3 inch clear packing tape works greast. Once you have wrapped the luggage tags at least twice around they will be like a they were laminated. Have done this for many cruises and never a one has been torn off.

We use the clear packing tape as well, then use a hole-punch and secure them to our luggage with sturdy zip-ties. We put them on our luggage at our hotel the evening before. It saves time the morning of the cruise when things get a little crazy.

In addition, we take one of those stick-on name tags and print our ship and cabin # with our last name. We stick this somewhere on the checked luggage. This is just an extra measure just in case the original tags come off in transit. They really throw around the bags so better safe than sorry.

We also use the clear packing tape and staples. I cover the staples with tape also so no one gets cut by them. We also put two tags on each bag and one inside the luggage unfolded with my wifes business card stapled to it. We had a handle come off a bag once good thing we had two on it. enjoy your cruise.
