OH, one more thing! Your posting rocks!!!! I am getting excited. I wish I had read it before I had to send in my finalization! I asked for a 2 hour reception. Perhaps if I PAY for it, IT WILL HAPPEN! We timed how long it takes my friends to get me into my corrsetted gown, 20 MINUTES! Maybe we can practice and cut that down some! So, I the timeline is very important. Hopefully, when I talk with my girl she can reassure me of the time of events so I get more time with guests. Can you suggest picture places now that you have gone around and said "I wish"? I know I want water behind me.

if you have not paid for the reception yet, which if you are like me, they did not call for final payment til the week of....Then you can still change it. Just call your girl and tell her you changed your mind. Unless you want to try. You can also ask how many other weddings are that day and what time yours will be and that might help you make up your mind.

Thanks. I am glad I have gotten to know you thru our weddings:)

Hi :p

Thanks for your review! I am so happy everything went well

I cant wait to see the pics.

Instead of a DJ you used the ipod sound system. do you know if it hooks up to iphones too? I am considering doing thatsince the DJ is crazy overpriced :)

Thanks

Glad my review is helping.

I would imagine it hooks up to iphones too since it is the same plug. The DJ was crazy price.

My guest did not actually get on board til almost 12:30 because of the hold up with the computer system when the non guest enter the ship. They were brought to the chapel and had to stay there. The wedding was scheduled to start at 1 so they were all ready to go and waiting on me getting there.

So all in all they had an hour or just less to be brought up to the chapel, get settled, talk with each other and they took pics too. My in laws have a really nice camera and I found some great pics. My husband was there during this time too. So he took pics with everyone.

I was looking at pics today and while we were doing our first dance the clock in the back said 1:45. So we probable started the wedding just before 1:30. I also noticed that while we were saying our good byes it was 2:40.

Nice, a clock to give us a timeline. So, your guests that were only 25 finally got to the chapel at 12:30? That is when my wedding is suppose to start. So the guests that have to disembark leave early, but what about my 24 who stay? They could potentially continue partying right, so that 2 hour reception could happen just without the family I originally planned to have it for right! Lightskingal, I think you have the right idea, have a small party wiith dinner the night before! I did not think of that. Unfortunately, I have decided not to do that because I do not want to be so scattered the night before and after the price of the photos, I will not have that extra money. I really want to be quiet in my room, or am I just delusional! Tell me FLdogmassage, I suppose I will not get any sleep right?? My family will be awake, loud and having a fun time, and I will want to be right in the middle of it all!!!! And then there is my fiance's family, quiet and reserved. Oh my!

You are both welcome.

Yes by the time we got to our room to dress and at the same time the guest were getting to the chapel it was 12:30. I would also imagine that yes once the guest are escorted off the guest that are crushing can finish the two hour reception. That only makes sense.

I did not sleep the night before. When we got back from our rehearsal dinner I was still getting things done and hyper and the woke up at 2 a, and could not fall back to sleep. Enjoy the process enjoy your friends and family. You will look back and wish you spent time with them not time sleeping.

Thanks for the insightful help! I recieved my final email from the RCCL wedding planner. She answered my questions about the 2 hours. She says many 2 hour receptions are successful. I am going to go for it! Hope for the best. I asked about the coffee tables during lunch and she said that ALL venues on ALL class ships will no longer provide formal lunch tables. Just thought I would pass that tid bit on to all your girls.

Be aware of photography, all my wedding photos are fuzzy & un-sharp even in outdoor, photographer was ok and knew a little abt photography but the camera was old and there was not any extra flash or the 2nd photographer, i am soooo depress, have to take another photos in land... they ruined my dream abt photos:mad:

When are you planning on having a royal devotions ceremony? I am also planning one for October 2014 on the Explorer of the Seas.

Hey, Fldogmassage, I talked to my wedding planner today to finalize. To all you brides, she is right, upon the finalization they do spell out everything. When my girl was going over everything I am saving the $150 for a sound technician because that is ONLY needed if you are using a digital device like IPOD or SMART PHONE. I am bringing my own mixed CD, so they will have a CD player. Totally not necessary for the technician to be there for that machine. YEAH! I did go for the pre-ceremony wedding beverage. The guests wait and get served beverages before the wedding while they are waiting. That is only $2.50 per person. I have the Chapel FLdog!!!! YEAH!!! I will have my reception at Zazzles. Can you tell me anything about it??? She says it is nice, overlooks the aquatheater and water area, dance floor lights up, and it will be completely private since its two hour reception. I was so excited I could barely contain myself!!

Ok, correction reception will be at Dazzles. Still don't know what it looks like. Anyone know?

HI

I found this great website www.beyondships.com

that has photos/descriptions of all the bars and lounges and anything else you can think of.

Look up your ship, i bet it tells you a little bit more about DAzzles.

Good Luck

Thanks girls, and thanks Fldogmassage for allowing me to come on your review and kind of post on your review. I will add my own review after my wedding. I did look up Dazzles ladies, and the venue will be perfect! I am so excited, and the weekend is here!!! Fldog its finally here!!! The hotel is quite accommodating, picked up all my guests promptly. There are 3 bridal parties staying at the hotel. They had a bottle of wine for my fiance and I as a wedding gift upon arrival. Very sweet. The group guest service lady greeted us and gave me a hug personally after a year of planning this event together and she even created websites for my pre and post cruise guests. It was easy breezy for them. Restaurants within walking distances, stip mall for incidentals for those who might have forgotten something. Rooms really spacious. Not bad. And girls Fldog is right, when the finalization is made, the second person calls you, she even gives you her personal cell phone number in case you have any needsor concerns before the wedding. The attention to detail is there. In the beginning you feel so neglected, but when it really counts, they seem to be really on top of their game. I got the total play by play run down of the day, we discussed the most appropriate procedure to ensure the best two hour window. It was great!! I am most pleased!!

I tell you, I am not sure how many people you will have at your wedding. And I am not sure if we will have any problems like Fldog did with the computer. But they assured me that if I paid for 2 hours they can get me two hours. Now, mine is a bit different since most of the people in the wedding are cruising. Of the 38 only 14 leave the boat. So the party can continue. That is in the favor of the ship's planner because they can continue the party without me complaining too much if some of my guests have to leave early. II like the idea of family getting a beverage outside the pinnacle chapel before the wedding. Gives them a time to get something cold to drink while I'm getting ready, and feel like the wedding started. I don't think Fldog saw this option or was not given the option in her paperwork. Her paperwork did not say the formal luncheon was no longer available on any of the rccl weddings.

Hi ladies, back on shore!!! Not home yet, still in Ft. Laud. Saying good bye to guests at the hotel We have post cruise nights as well. I will make a review soon. Fldog, it was amazing, truly amazing and absolutely no complaints! I had my two hour reception and that is with some problems boarding. But I will tell all of you, I made sure that they understood, I would be a very unhappy bride if we did not get in there ontime for the party I PAID for. They made things happen fast as soon as customs made the opening for the shipboards guests to load onboard. Ofcourse, all my guests were there and in place, two attendants were actually more like 3 and I only paid for two!

Thank you ladies for posting through your planning process and including a recap of you event. I am getting married on the Quantum on 3.14.15 at sea. I have been looking for some real life feed back on the process and not just horror stories or complaints. I would be interested in seeing anyone else who is also getting married on RCCL to post and in particular those getting married while at sea. I know that this is new option and there seems to be little feedback on how well this is going for RCCL.
