Self Laundry on Carnival (Liberty)

Last I found laundry cost $3 ea wash/dry and only took quarters.

 

Is this still the case? Can someone verify who has been on Carnival Liberty lately?

Just off the Liberty on April 6. Laundry was indeed $3 to wash, $3 to dry and took quarters. Cost was $1.25 if you needed to buy detergent.

The washer and dryers are expensive. I was on another cruise line that charged $4 for each.

 

To cut costs, bring your own powder or "pod" and dryer sheets. I know this sounds really weird but I only use liquid detergent. I took a couple of white socks, put them in a zipper-type plastic bag and soaked the socks in liquid laundry detergent. Then I doubled bagged it so it wouldn't leak. It worked out great. I used one sock per load.

 

If you need change and the machine in the laundry room is out, you can always go to the casino.

I get hives from some dry laundry detergents. I like this sock idea. I'll have to try that. Thanks.

I just found individual packets of liquid Tide at Walmart and Target. They were over in the section where the travel size shampoos, etc are at. I think I paid $0.95 per pack. We live in FL, but I have a son, so dirty clothes are going to happen. lol I thought if I could wash before stains set it - it would be a good idea.

Laundry is expensive we usually do a load or 2 every cruise but I take those laundry sheets that go from the washer to dryer, no spills. Can't wait till platinum soon yes soon!!!!

I would advise doing this. I packed a roll of quarters and it set off security at the airport.
