Tall-Cruiser Posted April 21, 2013 #76 Share Posted April 21, 2013 And I beleive that that ferry was built by Aker Yards, who hold the rights to it, Aker Yards is now owned by STX. Yes you and others here are correct that the RP was on a ferry. The concept started with MS Silja Serenade.
Rare fletch1027 Posted April 21, 2013 #77 Share Posted April 21, 2013 The Royal Promenade design is a registered trademark of the shipyard in Finland. STX purchased that shipyard and also the St Nazaire shipyard in France, where Oasis 3 is being made, hence why they can build a ship with a promenade in France, but not in Germany. The Meyer Werft shipyard is in no way connected to STX. Quantum is the highest denisty of any modern Royal Caribbean ship... as nice as Ice Skating Ricks and Promenades are, imagine how many cabins could fill all of that dead space. The higher the density the more crowded it will feel... :-(
