Thanks for this review. It makes me want to sail on the Breeze! I am also from WV! We used to fly Allegiant Air, but I had no idea about the changes in the prices and luggage. Good information to know! The past couple cruises we've been on, we've made the 13 hour drive! It's not a bad drive, just long! Glad to see WV represented on the boards! :)

This is one of the best reviews I read in a long time...It kept me entertained at work for at least two weeks. I would read in between doing my work and scheduling patients. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVED your pictures all of them....Especially the one showing off South Beach, our cruise is in September and we are going to look for some of the spots you displayed, and our next cruise will be defintely booking the room with the view of the ships...I think it was the Downtown Hilton :)

Theaterjunkie,

The drive to FL is always interesting and scenic, but you're right it's LOOONNGG!

Allegiant was our favorite for several years, but their new policie$ are too much. Granted the direct flights do outweigh some co$ts....

Another West Virginian here! We are certified cruiseaholics...my huband and I get a group together in Jan/Feb each year and then we do another cruise in the spring on our own. We usually drive to FL but we flew Allegiant out of Tr-State into Sanford/Orlando this past May. Really hate all the 'extra' charges but it is still cheaper to fly than drive if it is just the two of us. We will probably drive in Jan. 2014 since we will be traveling with another couple.

Awesome! :) I haven't cruised in two years so I'm excited about my upcoming cruise in August! I would love to sail on the Breeze sometime in the near future.

CRUISE2062,

Speaking of being a cruiseaholic and the distance we must travel to our nearest treatment center makes me wonder why I've never visited our nearest center; Baltimore. I notice you haven't either? Better get your short drive fix in quick 'cause they're pulling the plug late next year. ;)

We have thought about it but our 7 day cruises are always in the winter and a cold weather cruise just doesn't appeal to me. I need that dose of sunshine and warm weather! But it sure would be nice to not have to fly/drive so far!

PaulMedik - Really enjoyed reading your review! I knew you were from WV but my ears really perked up when you mentioned the New River Gorge Bridge and living about 20 mi. away from there...then I notice a Greyhounds sweatshirt and I knew what area! I grew in the Gauley Bridge area and now live in Charleston...it really is a small world after all!:)

CRUISE2062,

Without a doubt it sure is a small world.

Karen and I grew up in Webster County and I have fond memories of playing football against Gauley Bridge. We now live in Montgomery and our sons go to Valley with the kids who used to go to Gauley Bridge.

BTW, we almost ended up reviving the old Gauley Bridge football field for Valley's home games this year, but ultimately we got Tech's field back in shape for this season (A work still in progress).

I was showing my 16yo cousin your cruise pictures and she knows Jaden. They played on a Montgomery city league basketball team together and they are FB friends!

This young lady has been taking care of people in this same spot for over a dozen years. Look her up and she'll take care of you too (And ask her what her name is and email her these pictures since I lost her info);

Love all of your reviews Paul! Question about Aruba. Did you book with this person in advance? I have been scouring the boards trying to find out how to get access to the Hyatt (in Aruba). We honeymooned there and we are highly considering this same ports of call (although on the Freedom) because of the Aruba stop. Any help would be much appreciated!
thanks!

rdevine10,

Thank you.

Karen just reminded me that her name is Sandra. We didn't book in advance; just caught a cab to that beach and luckily that's where we ended up.
Thank you for the Breeze review! The Breeze is definitely my favorite ship as well! Sailing on her again in a few short days!
afskatr,

Thank you.
Hi Paul, what a great review you have posted. By any chance do you have video posted to youtube with your cruise. I am going on the Breeze next week and would love to watch some videos.
Family Travel Story,

Thank you.

I don't post many videos. I plan to get a GoPro and do a time lapse from start to finish, but so far I haven't bought one.....

CLICK HERE for me into the Toilet Bowl

I always video quite a bit on each cruise and always plan to patch them all together into a full video, but for whatever reason I never get around to it. My favorites are videos from our boys first cruises and listening to them talk about things they were seeing; priceless. Some day I'll get around to uploading them. :o

Paul,
Thanks for the great review. We can't wait to cruise on the Breeze in 14 days!
Question I don't know if you'll know the answer to....on the day of disembarkation, we don't fly out of Miami until sometime in the afternoon. We'd go to the beach, but will have our luggage. Any suggestions for a place to store our luggage OR is there anything to do near the airport that we could check our bags and go do?
Thank you in advance.

Havana Daydreamer,

Thank you.

We've had a similar flight time on two occasions and on both we rented a car and went to the beach. Most of the time our flights are the next day and we just checkin early to our hotel and they store our bags until the room is ready.

Near the airport in Miami is NOT a place to do anything other than avoid. :o You can pick up the rental at one of the downtown locations (We always use Hertz) and drop off at the airport. Most rental agencies have shuttles from the port to their local offices and prices are reasonable.

Be sure and check Miami local events listings for the day you get off the ship. Miami almost completely shuts down all traffic on Sunday mornings for various events and while they're fun to watch you don't want to get stuck trying to navigate around them.

Let me know what you decide and how it goes for you.

Bon Voyage!
