Charlie'sPet Posted April 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2013 Just to clarify, if I wish to make a reservation to Pinnacle Grill before the cruise then I will be charged right away? I will have some OBC and wish to use it for a couple of nights at the PG. Do I have to wait until I'm on board the ship to make the reservations so I can use the OBC instead of my credit card being charged? What is the likelihood of not getting the day/time I wish if I wait until I reserve on the ship? I'll be on the Zuiderdam the first week of September. Thanks. Krazy Kruizers Posted April 23, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2013 You are correct -- if you make your Pinnacle reservations now either online or through Ship Services, you will be charged right away. Waiting until you get on the ship -- hard to predict if you will get the day and time you want. Sometimes the Pinnacle fills up fast -- sometimes it doesn't. Only once were we not able to book the Pinnacle once we get on the ship. Are you aware that any shipboard credit that you have can be used towards the Hotel Service Charge, excursions booked on the ship, shops on board, any wine and/or cocktails that you order on the ship? Your OBC can be used to offset the daily HSC or any other expenses you incur on board. Have a nice cruise!
Rare kazu Posted April 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2013 If there is a crucial date or time I have in mind, I book it in advance. Then, I keep my options open on board for other potential days:D On shorter cruises, the PG can sell out quickly. the rest of the questions have been answered
Typhoon1 Posted April 23, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 23, 2013 Onboard reservations should be made as soon as you board the ship. A certain number of tables are held for on board reservations. As soon as you board, stop at the podium in the Lido or pick up the nearest phone and ask for restaurant reservations.
Charlie'sPet Posted April 23, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted April 23, 2013 Are you aware that any shipboard credit that you have can be used towards the Hotel Service Charge, excursions booked on the ship, shops on board, any wine and/or cocktails that you order on the ship? Yes, thank you. The OBC will also cover the HSC and we are planning to book our excursions through private tours. We also don't drink. But I didn't think about the purchases in the shops. I'm assuming we could also use it for the spa? I didn't think of that until now. Thanks for everyone's advice!
Krazy Kruizers Posted April 24, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 24, 2013 Yes -- you can use it for the spa. Shipboard credit can be used for everything on the ship except the Casino.

Not a very prudent way to use OBC.
