Go to http://www.tauck.com then click on travel forums. Then you can find the region of your river cruise. If there is no posting yet, you can post there. You may or may not get a response. Not a very active board, but you might get lucky.

You're right. Their site is pretty scanty. Must be cultural thing. I hope they're more sociable in person. We leave in two weeks.

Go to the Tauck website and look at the page which lists the Rhine rivercruise. It has a box where you can read reviews. Also, check the river cruise roll call on Cruise Critic. You posted this on the "river ports" section. We took the Tauck Rhine cruise two years ago and loved it! As for weather, just layer and take a small umbrella. Go to weather.com and check out the weather a week ahead.

We're heading out the same day, leaving from Basel, with Avalon. Which way are you going? I'm not even going to look at the weather till about a week ahead. We had snow/sleet/hail here in Ontario yesterday, so who knows what's happening there!

Thanks. Just added the fold up umbrella based on the forecast. No matter what, it will be better than the heat and humidity in central Florida.

We took this northbound trip back the fall of 2011 and loved it, especially the less-travelled, less-congested Moselle River. Take the trip to Lucerne once you arrive in Basel; well worth it.

 

If you have the time, take the chairlift up the hill in Boppard; the views do not disappoint.

 

We're taking the Budapest to Amsterdam river cruise in 2014.

Thanks. We did Budapest to Prague 2 years ago on AMA Waterways. With out a doubt, one of our top 2 vacations. So now we're going North to South from Amsterdam. I lived in Heidelberg for 3 years in the late 60's and am looking forward to seeing Europe by water instead of by Autobahn.
