dorisis Posted June 23, 2013 #51 Share Posted June 23, 2013 Ft. Lauderdale for the short distance to the airport. Port Canaveral for the lack of traffic and congestion near the port, and the efficient traffic flow around the terminal. And I'd add Tampa because it is the closest to where I live, Too bad they have so few lines leaving from there.
Stelladoro Posted June 23, 2013 #52 Share Posted June 23, 2013 Most beautiful ports for Sailaway so far are Venice and Sydney.
smtcan Posted June 23, 2013 #53 Share Posted June 23, 2013 Most beautiful ports for Sailaway so far are Venice and Sydney. Definitely agree with these two. Fort Lauderdale is great to leave from, but brutal to arrive at, especially after a Transatlantic - incredibly long lines for non US citizens. The worst we experience we had was in Buenos Aires - three ships in port and it took three hours in line to reach the check in desks. Taxguy77 Posted June 26, 2013 #54 Share Posted June 26, 2013 Miami for sure - but our next cruise is out of Ft. Lauderdale so we'll see how that compares! Port is fine, but airport is a mess, very very busy!! Fort Lauderdale has a small airport, but is in sight of the ships.
GrandmaDi Posted June 30, 2013 Author #55 Share Posted June 30, 2013 I can't wait to cruise from Fort Lauderdale in Feb since everyone seems to like it. It has been awhile since we were there.
