Andy/Bill: OK, I've tried on other threads with no success, so I'm going to follow guidance I received and start a new thread. How can one find out who the enrichment lecturers are on a cruise and their areas of expertise before boarding?

I second that. Quite a few other lines give information about the Lecturers and lectures that will be available. There was no information about the Lecturer on our cruise anywhere apart from the time & title of each lecture. But he was extremely good - Michael Hick.

It would be good to hear from other guests which talks they have & haven't enjoyed.

Also whether it's possible to purchase DVDs of the lectures. We know they are recorded as they're shown on the TV.

Hello NC&KY -

Although we do not have a system in place for publishing advance information about our enrichment lecturers due to scheduling issues, I'm pleased to share with you information about the lecturer on the Azamara Quest's July 14-24, 2013 voyage. Here are some details:

Destination Lecturer - Ernest Werlin

1. Dublin, Ireland: The city immortalized by James Joyce’s novel-- Ulysses and Dubliners.

While we are enjoying a pint of Guinness, we can discuss Dublin’s role in dismantling the British Empire as well as the city’s renaissance.

2. Belfast, Northern Ireland-The home of the world famous Harland and Wolff shipbuilders.

Werlin will take you past the ethno-political strife of past years. We will enjoy strolling around the elegant Victorian Palm House in its Botanic Gardens.

3. Glasgow, Scotland: Once the Second City of the Empire - Werlin will discuss the range of architecture from the unique Victorian cityscapes of Alexander Thomson to the cutting-edge art nouveau vision of Charles Mackintosh.

4. Edinburgh, Scotland: The “Athens of the North.” Werlin will take you through The Old Town and New Town districts of Edinburgh which were listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995.

5. Hamburg, Germany: “The Venice of the North” with more bridges than any other city in the world. Werlin will point out Hamburg’s incredible array of architectural styles, important churches, and its richly decorated Neo-Renaissance town hall.

Best wishes for an enriching destination-immersion experience as you vacation with Azamara!

As my kids would say, "Awesome." Thank you for the very prompt and complete response. It's the information I've been looking for for weeks, and I couldn't ask for more.

Oh, Bill, now you have got me started. I love the enrichment lectures; the professor on our cruise last October was excellent.

Any information available for the September 21 Quest cruise?

Hello CintiPam -

I've heard back from our Enrichment Programming specialist and learned there will be a destination lecturer. The discussion content will focus on the ports which you will be visiting.

At this time, I'm unable to provide you with the lecturer's name - it's still subject to final confirmation.

I'm pleased that you're a fan of "destination-immersion" and hope that your "Adriatic Explorer" voyage exceeds your expectations.

Best regards,

Bill Leiber

Sounds good to me. Feel free to post any further information you receive.

We loved our immersion in Greek temples/ruins and Byzantine mosaics in Sicily (plus Malta and Paestum) last fall on Quest and look forward to our September Adriatic cruise.
