Does anyone in the Ft. Lauderdale area know if there is a boat show or major event going on around March 1st? It seems that the hotel prices are higher than usual for this time of the year.....

Does anyone in the Ft. Lauderdale area know if there is a boat show or major event going on around March 1st? It seems that the hotel prices are higher than usual for this time of the year.....

It's peak season and South Florida is packed that time of year.

 

Hotels have been running at full occupancy now for the past couple of seasons so hotels are jacking up the prices.

 

Also, there are a lot of smaller conferences and conventions that aren't city wide that time of year.

March 1-2 is gay Pride Fest weekend in Ft Lauderdale.

Thank you both for your responses! Prices just seemed higher than usual & I didn't want to be too comfortable with Priceline if everything is maxed out....

Spring Break is also very big at that time

We thought they were high for Feb. 23,too so we used hotel points for this stay.
