Transfer from Brooklyn Cruise Port to Manhattan

Apologies if this has been answered already but as a newbie cruiser to NYC I need some help.

 

What is the best way to get from the Brooklyn Cruise Port to a hotel near Central Park please? We will be a party of 4 adults with quite a lot of luggage. Will there be taxis big enough to take all 4 of us and our luggage? Any idea of cost? :confused:

Be sure to provide an honest estimate of how much luggage you'll have...it will affect the type of vehicle needed...and thus the price.

 

Although taxis can in theory take 4 passengers...some even 5 passengers, accommodating your luggage will be problematic so don't depend on being able to take one.

I would book from home rather than from the ship.
