NCL out of MIA...

Hi, we have cruised several times, although none with NCL. Upon returning, Usually we're docked and off the boat by 830 and to the airport by 930... And if we have an early flight we have had the option of going to guest services to get a different luggage tag to get of the ship sooner. How is the unloading process with NCL? If we dock at 800, what time could we expect to get to MIA? Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences, I'm trying to decide on flight times bc there is a much cheaper flight that departs at 1135.

On NCl, you are not assigned a departure time based on deck number, or whatever. You choose your luggage tags in the lobby based on the time you want to leave the ship.

The earliest departure would be the Easy Walk Off, I think it's called. You do not set your luggage out for pick up the night before, so you have to be able to get off with your luggage on your own. If you do not want to do that, then choose the color tag corresponding to the time you want to get off.

I would think you would have no problem getting to Miami airport for an 11:30 flight.

Our flight is scheduled for about 11;15. We didn't used to schedule until after noon but we are normally off the ship by 9:30 or 10am. Remember, the last day, the actual arrival time is usually much earlier than what our schedule says.

Yes, you can get luggage tags that will allow you to be the first off the ship or you can carry your own bags. The problem with this: so many people are doing it now days, it jams up the halls and creates hevic for a lot of people.

We have sailed in/out of Miami several times and it's pretty smooth each time. We have done the walk off (but actually wasn't in a rush to walk off early) and have done the assigned times (that we picked) and have always made it to the airport WAY to early. Everyone always says to get a flight out any time after noon, and we have always done that since you can't predict what "might" happen, but we have always arrived at the airport and had to wait for HOURS upon HOURS to leave because we get there so early. :p
