Disembarking in Amsterdam

Our cruise ends in Amsterdam and we want to visit the Anne Frank museum on the Sunday morning that we disembark.

 

We disembark around 8:00 a.m., then we need to make our way to the train station to store our luggage, and then we will be free to sightsee. We'd like to go straight to the Anne Frank museum first - what time should we buy our tickets for?

I would say 10-10:30. It is not a long walk to the station from you will dock and then about 20 minutes to the Anne Frank Haus. We got lost so perhaps add some cushion as well and then you can have a cup of coffee if you are early.

I believe that you can prebook the tickets on line. Enjoy Amsterdam!

Better prebook your tickets. There is a special entrance for people holding tickets. Or else....lines can be very long.

I most definitely agree about pre-booking tickets on line! Just outside the train station is a tourist center and tickets can also be bought there, however to get morning tickets might be difficult - so in your situation pre-buying would be very helpful! As mentioned, there is a "fast line" for those with tickets.

 

Also correct that its just a short walk to the train station but I don't know how long it'd take to store luggage - didn't do it there.

 

You can also take a tram from the station area to very close to the AF Haus - tram # 13 or 17 - stop name: Westermarkt. The walk isn't too bad either - if you have time after storing luggage - walk over to the Prinsengracht canal (don't cross canal - AF Haus is on station side of canal) and walk along canal to the AF Haus - lovely area!!
