August 2, 2014 equinox from Barcelona chartered???

I just heard that cruise has been chartered and I may be bumped off the boat --- even though I already paid a deposit. Anyone else hear of such a thing?

I have not though I have just confirmed that the cruise has been cancelled. Disappointing beyond belief. That was going to be my 55th birthday present.

Are they offering you anything for the inconvenience? I suspect not as the cruise is so far out. Hope you have a good TA trying to find you an alternative.

We just heard of this too, also the following cruise on 14 August has been cancelled as it has a 'private charter' seems a little odd.

The August 2nd 2014 sailing is an Atlantis Cruise charter.

This occurs on all cruiselines. Private companies will charter the whole ship. Celebrity doesn't need to sell all it's cabins on an individual basis.
