Rental car from Port of Miami to FLL airport

We have decided after we get off the cruise that we are headed to Key West for a few days and then back to Fort Lauderdale airport for our flight home. Does anyone have knowledge of what car rental places will let you go start at the Port but return to Fort Lauderdale?

Most of the major agenices have not drop fee ofr one-way rentals in Florida :cool:, but you may not qualify ofr the best rate. :(

 

National, Alamo and thrifty offer free shuttles from POM to their MIA airport location -- which means you do not get to drive through downtown Miami traffic on your way to Key West. ;)

 

Hertz has a downtown Miami location that also offers free POM shuttles; Avis and others are located downtown (about a $12 cab ride from POM) but do not offer shuttles. Good luck! :)

JohninDC, Great information thank you so much, you answered a lot of my questions - the first few rental companies I looked at got me discouraged, I think it was Enterprise, Last Minute Travel and Avis and they would not let you pick up in one place and return to another.
