Clothing on Celebrity

Capella Black

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm a third time cruiser, but new to Celebrity, and I'm trying to work out what type of clothing would be appropriate while on board. As far as formal dining goes, alls well - my OH and I love black tie, and so will stick with that.

The question is what to wear during the day. We're in our twenties, and would typically wear jeans/denim shorts/skirts and t-shirts during the day. Is that too slob by for Celebrity (Infinity, 30th Sept cruise)? Also on smart casual dining nights - is denim poor form, or pretty normal?

Thanks for any help - I'd hate to feel out of place or make others uncomfortable, but also want to be myself when possible!

Hi there! You might want to check out my review, here is the link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1700095

We both were 26 when we went on our first X cruise. I posted lots of pics in my review. We are about to go on our next X cruise for our honeymoon at 27.

I personally did not wear "denim" once on this ship to eat, however, my fiance did wear the nice/dark denim jeans once in the MDR. In the daytime I did wear J. Crew chino shorts on ship but never denim. I did wear denim touring Rome so my knees would be covered and in Pompeii.

Here are some specific links to get an idea of what we wore on ship in the day:

We did infinity, no jeans for smart casual, ok on casual nights. Daytime you are fine, remember that if on tour to a church, some don't allow shorts. Where is your cruise to?

Some people have preferences but Jeans are perfectly acceptable according to Celebrity's dress code on smart casual nights.

and pack a barrage of more casual dresses for dinner. Sadly that means ill have to go buy some - it's a hard life!

I just saw this, yes! I had so much fun shopping for dresses :) I think I packed 13-15 dresses! I had one every night for dinner and I think I had a couple extra beachy-pool side dresses. I have quite the closet of dresses now. Need to go on more cruises :p
