It's a Panama Canal cruise with the Star. It leaves Miami 14 days later arrives in LA. Instead of flying back home, we're going to just cruise back to Miami for another 14 days. It'll be the longest cruise we've ever taken with 14 days being the max in the past. Should be fun!

Very nice, and Panama Canal is def. something I'd love to do and both ways, wow. The Star was my very first cruise but she was in the Caribbean in 2012 so very different. DH has done the partial PC on Princess, but we want to do the full transit. Maybe we'll look at the TA and take it a step further right to LA and back to Miami. Who knows?

Hope you have a wonderful cruise.

Hey! When's yours? We're leaving Miami Jan. 19th for LA and then leaving LA Feb. 2nd for Miami.

We leave December 8 from Miami. I somehow thought you were taking the EXACT same cruise. And now, back to our original thread, already in progress....

OMG, I just have to laugh and believe someone from NCL must have been reading this blog. Just brought MY NCL and I'm looking at the Lattitude benefits.

It is NOW SPECIFIED. :D

Laundry Service

25% on one bag of laundry Gold members, complimentary one bag of laundry Platinum members

I'm thinking CC and NCL are a good combination. :)

Glad to see they are paying attention!

Now if they would just partition off the casino smoke better on the new builds we would know they really ARE listening, and not just to dollars....

This was our first time using the laundry service. I was really pleased with how nice everything came back - considering it was just a "wash & fold" service. I think it came back the same day, if not it was the next day. I was aware of the day the "stuff a bag" was offered, just didn't know we were supposed to use the certificate on that day. On our upcoming cruise I will clarify this offer with the room steward to avoid any confusion.

Happy cruising!

We will be on the Dec 8 with you. We are doing the round trip on the Star starting in LA 11/24 and returning from Miami 12/8.

The laundry service for Platinum has been on the day they offer the "bag special" since they first offered it as a perk. Also, if both of you are Platinum, you get two if needed.

Are you signed up on the roll call for 12/8? We have a get together after muster, and a meet and greet the next day. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1685393&page=12

There was a booklet of coupons in my cabin on the Dawn last month, one being the free laundry coupon which I could use at any point, just include it in the bag. The difference I noticed this time is the room stewart had me fill out the slip listing everything whereas last time I just stuffed the bag without using the slip to list each item.

We are both platinum. On the Breakaway, it could be used any day. But, we were told one bag for the two of us. It is confusing.

It's one bag per each platinum I just used it on breakaway in September on slip you write platinum free laundry mark down all items and no problem

We sent two bags one for each

  • 2 months later...
Just wanted to follow up and give credit to NCL where it is due. On our third day we received a message from the Cruise Consultant saying that she had received an e-mail from NCL HQ comping us a full bag of laundry. She even went so far as to tell how to roll the garments to get the most we could in the bag. Kuddos to NCL for stepping up and turning this into a positive!
