On Oasis, what would you say is the best deck(s) to be on?

I have been on Deck 8 and Deck 9. I personally like Deck 8, we were just aft of the aft elevators, not far from Dazzles. We used Central Park to cut across when needed, it was very convenient. When we were on Deck 9, we would go down to Deck 8 but still use Central Park to cut across. If you've never cruised Oasis or Allure you may not understand what we mean by cutting across through Central Park. Same thing can be done on Deck 5 with the Promenade but it always seemed more crowded than Central Park did. Of course you can always use the hallways, but those seem to more difficult especially if the stateroom attendants have their carts out in the hallways. I will always try to book on Deck 8 if possible from now on!

Well we are on deck 7 on our Feb. 22nd sailing. We didn't have much choice when we booked, but I am sure we will be fine on deck 7 after all - we are on the Oasis! :D

We like deck 7, aft. Usually, we'd go out a door that comes out by the Rock Wall and went down from there. Very convenient. Look on a diagram of the ship and you can find the door.

We did get mixed up a few times and couldn't cross over from starboard to port, when we used the wrong elevator but no big deal.

Lol yes if you've got the choice, deck 17....

Like others have said, it depends what's important to you. We always go Deck 6 forward, as close to elevators as possible (I HATE walking down long boring corridors). Forward, you are the right end for Theatre, Jazz, Comedy club, studio B. Also for Solarium, main pool and beach pool. And we were right near the gym. On the other hand, you're the wrong end for Windjammer, Boardwalk, Schooner Bar and MDR. We always either walked up to 8 and went across Central Park, or walked down to 5 and went along Promenade. If we'd been on a much higher or lower deck we would probably have had to take elevators to do that. On deck 6, we only really used the elevators for going to Solarium on deck 15. We were also right by the Diamond Lounge which suited us.

I'm not a seasickness sufferer and can't imagine Oasis or Allure moving enough to make me seasick. Maybe in a hurricane? So can't comment on deck height for that. I don't like neighborhood balconies because I like to have a sea view, privacy and fresh air. They're fun to do once though, as they are unique. If I absolutely had to have a neighborhood balcony, I would go for aft overlooking aqua theatre.

There is no downside at all to being near an elevator. Some people think that they might be noisy but if you've been on the ship you'd see that the cabins aren't nearly close enough to the elevators to suffer from noise.

We chose a deck 6 starboard location very near the forward elevators for all the reasons you mentioned, but also, and most importantly because we are right under Adventure Ocean (well not right under - it is on deck 14, but it is just a few cabins doors walk to the elevator, a ride up, and then we are there). We are back and forth to AO probably 3 times/day, if not more, and having to walk the length of the ship to do that sucks up time and gets tiring.

If you come up on the wrong side of deck 7, you can't get to the other side withough going back up or down a flight.

In my

you can see where you can't go across on deck 7

Was on deck 8 last time and would definitely book there or deck 6

Hmmm. I have a cruise booked in a GS on Allure in the same area as the video was taken. We have family members in rooms on 7 on the other side of the ship. The floor plans show that there is a crossover there, but clearly there is not. Not really sure I'm happy about that. I'm sure it'll end up not being a huge deal, but wish the floorplans would have been right and I would have had that info when booking.

We prefer deck 14, mid-ship. We spend a lot of time at the pool, flow rider, etc so it is a quick walk for us. We avoid the elevators the majority of the cruise so we get a lot more exercise going up and down the stairs to the Boardwalk and Central Park:)

Having said that, it's a pretty subjective question. What is it this family member concerned about...mobility, noise, passenger traffic? Can you give us some specifics?

I prefer deck 6, ocean view balcony, just aft of the aft elevators. I love being able to get up in the morning, and walk to the Boardwalk for my first cup of coffee. I sit in the Aqua Theater for a few moments, sipping my coffee and watching the ocean views. I then walk down the steps behind the stage, that takes you to the walking/jogging track. In the very aft, there are lounge chairs just waiting for me to sit in while I finish my coffee; again, enjoying the ocean views. I then go back up the stairs, walk through Boardwalk, and up two flights of stairs to Central Park. I find the Park Cafe and my second cup of coffee. I find a bench or chair in the park, marvel at the trees and flowers, as well as the very blue sky, do a little people watching; all the while sitting in the middle of the ocean. Such a nice beginning to a day.

Deck 6 aft is just a flight up from the Promenade deck, and directly over the main dining room. It is easy access to the Casino and the Comedy and Jazz Clubs. The only time I need to take an elevator, is when I go to the pool deck or the art studio for a craft class.

We are on deck 6 in room 6664, and I was wondering if you had a clear view to the ocean from your balcony. I tried to plan it that we would avoid the life boats but I was wondering if I succeeded:rolleyes:
