Character breakfast reservations?

We were on Allure a few weeks ago and were not able to book the character breakfast in advance. Once we got onboard we were told to just show up and they would try to get us in. We ended up going to the character breakfast two different mornings because there were different characters at each of the breakfast. We had no problem getting in. The breakfast was really nice. The characters (from Madagascar and Shrek) went to each table and let you take pictures. The menu was cute with interesting names for each of the items.

We had reservations on our October 13th FOS cruise and no one was asked for their reservation nor was our card scanned. As a matter of fact people that were in the MDR for breakfast came over to the small section and took pictures also.

In case anyone is interested...checked today for our cruise embarking 1/26 and the Character Meal link showed up in Specialty Restaurants. So I booked!

Fun! Thanks for the description, and that's nice that you got to go twice. I'll have to think about that.
