When are shore excursions lists available?

Just placed a deposit on a June 2014 Med cruise. When will we be able to see the list of shore excursions?

 

I'm aware of the booking openings according to prior cruise status; we're silver and it's 90 days out. I thought that once the deposit was made, we could view, but not book shore excursions.

Go to SHIPS AND ACTIVITIES on the main DHL page. The link to Port Adventures is in the bottom right corner of the dropdown box. You should be able to see it at any time.

You will be able to view the typical excursions that DCL has offered in the past. You will not be able to be sure any specific excursion is going to be available on your cruise, or what time the excursions will be offered until you actual booking window opens.

Bottom line, they are posted when DCL has them ready! As above, you can view what was offered in the past. You can also go to other cruise lines to see what is available at any port (DCL's are similar). DCL does a few excursions that are special to them...this was especially in Alaska!

 

We did 24 nights in the Med on DCL in 2013. The biggest difference between booking thru DCL and what we could do on our own was convenience/lack of walking. For instance, in Venice...we were there overnight, so did one day on our own and one on a DCL excursion. On our own, we got off the ship, walked to the "people mover," and then to the vaporetto. Not a big deal unless you have someone who has difficulty walking. On the DCL excursion, a tender type boat was brought to the side of the ship and took us from there--probably eliminated 15 minutes of walking on each end. ALSO, on the DCL excursion in Venice, we were given the option of returning on the tender or staying in the city and getting ourselves back.

 

We did some great DCL excursions, some less good, and one AMAZING private excursion (in Turkey!)
