Mahogany bay-no exursion

Just wondering if there will be things to do near the pier.

 

Would like to do some shopping and beach time.

 

Is there some place close by that we could rent snorkelling equipment and is it good snorkelling.

You are on a Carnival owned ship, right? The port area there is really nice with new stores and a nice beach area. We left the area and did an excursion, but I sort of regretted it because it looked so nice by the pier. Have a great trip.

At Mahogany Bay there's a decent shopping area and a pretty beach with chairs for your use at no cost where you dock. :)

If snorkeling is really important to you, it would be best to go elsewhere.

We aborted Roatan Tues due to weather and I was real disappointed since I hear its really improved since I was there 10 yrs ago. Mahogany Bsy has nice shopping etc but as OP said not snorkeling.

You really should get away from the dock area on Roatan because it's one of the nicer islands you'll visit in our opinion.

The Mahogany Bay port has a zip line course and ATV excursion right outside the front gate if that interests you.

You will not see the "Real" Roatan by staying at Mahogany Bay but it is convenient. :)

Did they try to dock at Mahogany and not able to do so, and was it because of wind ? We are headed there in March and have always docked @ Coxen with no problems, but this time we are on Carnival. Thanks for any info..

It sounded like the decision to abort was reached by Capt and pilot boat captain. Not even sure how close in we were since I was stuck in a closet ......or I should say an inside cabin!!
