Radiance luggage allowance

We are doing a 5 day southbound Radiance cruise tour beginning in Fairbanks sailing out of Seward. What is RCI's policy with regard to the luggage allowance? I have searched high & low and can't find any info. DH and I usually cruise with 4 suitcases and 1 carry on, I hope I'm not going to be in big trouble with packing.

As this would a cruise line policy, and has nothing to do with Alaska, I would be researching on the RCI board.

That being said, I have never hear of any cruise line restricting luggage being brought aboard.

Its only a 5 day cruise. How much do you need?

OP is doing a cruise tour before the cruise, so I'm sure they'll be travelling more than 5 days.

There is no limit on luggage in your cabin. You will have to store under your bed or in the closet. Not familiar with limits for the cruise tour portion.

Lorey I did see some threads on this and I think that they get you to pack 2 bags. One stays on the coach or whatever that you don't have access to. I am assuming that there would be a weight limit - unless the driver is a machine:eek:

Check out some of the cruise tour reviews and reports..

The land portion is 5 days, the cruise 7 days and we will be staying several days in Vancouver so I guess we will need about enough for about 16 days. And I have researched the RCI board.

Thanks Hugh I thought I read somewhere that you could take one suitcase pp and a carry on to hotel/lodge and they would store the rest on the bus. I talked with several RCI reps and the cruise tour dept and they had no clue.

RCI doesn't really have an allowance. Most airline baggage fees keep our luggage under control.

DH and I are aft facing cabin rats and we are sailing on our Radiance again this summer. DH's 2 LLBean rolling duffels are named Big Blue and Bumba. When they put our luggage in our aft cabin, the bow of the ship lifts out of the water. Hahaha.

One suggestion.

Try to separate cruise only cloths and put in a separate suitcase. This way your motor coach driver can just leave it under the bus and not schlep it in every night.

In spite of looking like the Klampits, we work hard to keep schlepage to a minimum.

When are you sailing? We are 6 June......our Anniversary. We were married onboard in 2007.

Our cruise tour starts on August 25 and we board Radiance on August 29. On all of our cruises we have extended our vacation either pre or post cruise & I've always packed our cruise things in a separate suitcase for each of us so I will be fine doing that. I've tried to lighten the load but I haven't been very good at it I'm going to try and do a better job for this cruise.

From RC's website-

Q: How much luggage may I bring onboard? s.gif A: Each guest is permitted to carry a reasonable amount of personal property (including luggage) aboard the vessel; however, for your comfort and convenience, it is recommended that you limit the number of pieces you take. Keep in mind that airlines may charge for excess or oversize luggage. Charges incurred for excess or oversize baggage are the sole responsibility of the passenger. Each airline has a different limit on the amount of luggage they allow. Check with your air carrier for specific restrictions, such as allowance of pounds and any additional charges. s.gif

Thank you I am aware of what is allowed to bring on the ship I was mostly concerned if there was a limit for the land portion as it is by bus and train.

You will receive 2 different color luggage tags-one for the bags you will need to have delivered to your room daily, and one for any baggage that you won't need on the land portion-they will be delivered to your cabin when you board the ship. The idea is that if you have formal clothes for onboard that you don't need on land, you don't have to trip over that suitcase in your hotel room! We carried one case each and checked a 3rd bag through to the ship-it was nice to see clean clothes halfway through the trip!
