One more thing for your spreadsheet. I am sailing on the Legend on March 2nd so I have been following what is happing to the Legend. The Legend is heading to dry dock in 4 days. So if you want to update the spreadsheet with the improvements (since the next cruise will have them) here is the information on the improvements as posted by John Heald (posted on his Facebook jan 10 and I think he may have also posted this on his blog)

"Legend. She will be in dry dock from February 2nd - February 16th. Here is a list of what she will receive.

Water Park , Green thunder Slide – same as Carnival Spirit

Bonsai Sushi Bar on the starboard side of the atrium

Cherry on Top

Red Frog Pub - this will be where Satchmos is now on deck 3 forward

Casino will be reconfigured and new machines etc added

Upgrades to the Gym equipment...

Upgrades to the Spa treatment rooms

Draft Beer systems added to various bars and lounges

2 New Shows including the brilliant Epic Rock

Hasbro the Game Show

Pool area gets new decking etc.

Thanks. I will add.

One question, though.. Is "Epic Rock" a Playlist Prod show? I would assume it would get Playlist as part of the drydock.

Thanks sooo much for posting! Very useful! We're going on the Dream next and I noticed that the spreadsheet says it does not have a T-pool. I was looking at the deckplans and saw it on Deck 12? Is it really there??? Thanks!

The dream does have a thalassotherapy pool. We've been on it twice and confirm. Looking forward to bring back in it in 62 days!

Thanks. I see in on the deck plan now, it just isn't labeled like all the rest of them. Will correct.

This is the best first post in the history of first posts on cruise critic! Seriously nice job and welcome to CC.:)

I second that!!

I don't know about all that, but thanks to you (and everyone else that responded) for your kind words. I'm glad so many of you find the spreadsheet useful. :D

Hi all,

Although this is my first post, I have been reading threads here for quite a while and have found this website to be extremely useful for cruise planning. Since your insight and reviews have helped me so much, I thought I would share this spreadsheet I put together for relatively easy, at-a-glance comparison of all of the Carnival ships and their amenities.

Can't live without Guys burgers? Want to avoid ships with Playlist Productions like the plague? Forgot which ships have converted to the American Table/Feast MDR menu? Would love to pick a ship with no blaring Jumbotron and that has a pool in the Serenity area? Hopefully some of you will find this spreadsheet helpful for these type of questions and more...

I would love to have your feedback and any suggestions for changes, improvements or corrections.

Please note that I have saved the spreadsheet in an older format so that users of Excel 2000 and above (or an alternate viewer) should be able to open it without any problems. Also, due to the size of each row, this will NOT be printout-friendly.

This is an awesome tool. You'll have to keep it updated for us since Carnival is changing so fast right now!

Thanks for sharing!

This is fabulous..is there a way it can easily go on adobe reader too? If not I understand..I do not have office and excuse a stupid question from a computer limited soul.

I printed it to a .PDF file for you, but it doesn't make for ideal reading, since the spreadsheet is designed to always show the ship name no matter where you scroll from left to right, but this doesn't work in Adobe. You might have to print it out and line up the pages side by side.

There's also a free viewer available from Microsoft that you can load onto your PC. If you type "Excel Viewer" into Google, you can easily find it.

Here's the file for Adobe Reader.

My plan, at least initially, is to update it once a month, then edit this thread and attach the newest version to the first post.

This is great! I actually made a similar one a while back, but with not nearly as much detail. Mine was more of a score card to decide which ships I'd prefer to sail on over others. It lists things like "Water Works" and "2.0," but I'm thinking I may use your spreadsheet and re-do my scoring :)
