Onboard Credit for Gratuities

Does anyone know if Carnival allows you to put onboard credit towards gratuities?

Yes they do.

 

You'll find that the gratuities are added to your sign and sail card on Day 2.

If you have OBC it will offset.

As long as your OBC is specified for other things (we currently have $80 OBC for a bar tab) others right now have an excursion OBC, those are designated for a particular thing.

Yes, as long as they are not designated for other things as stated like specialty dining, excursion, bar, casino, etc. In most cases you can use it for whatever you want.

I'm glad to find this out I'm up to 550 in OBC. I'm glad I didn't prepay my gratuities.

Does the entire amount of the gratuity get charged on day 2?

 

Or is it a daily charge of $11.50?

 

In our case we are on a 7 day cruise and it is $11.50pp per day, and I am trying to understand when this will hit our account.

You get a one time charge, on day to for the full amount. Yes, it is a bit of a shock. That is the reason we prepaid this time.:)

Yes this was our first cruise with shareholder stock and I thought the whole cruise gratuities weren't included but lo and behold we checked our account and they had used it for gratuities. I was a happy camper as my sail and sign bill was only 12.00...
