Otis Posted September 14, 2014 #176 Share Posted September 14, 2014 Quite a few. We are going on HAL Ryndam in June and there are also other Embarkation days. I am fairly sure P and O and Fred Olsen also go to both countries. Windstar has one as well
PNW Traveler Posted September 19, 2014 #177 Share Posted September 19, 2014 Has anyone discovered a cruise that is less than 14 days that includes the Trondheim area? We are trying to do a "heritage" trip that would include Warwickshire in GB, as well as Trondheim, Norway as our heritage is from these areas. So thinking a London port would be best for air and ship, correct? Any help is appreciated! We did a short Hurtigruten cruise from Bergen to Trondheim that was part of our DIY land based tour in Scandinavia. It was a good sampler cruise for this area of the Norwegian coastline. During the cruise we took a separate fjord excursion that was well done. Our final destination Trondheim was a wonderful city for exploring. We spent a few days there. Don't discount Hurtigruten. Their ships are smaller and get closer to the spectacular scenery. You will spend enough time in some ports to explore the area and shorter times in other ports to just enjoy the cruising in and out of the inlets and small seaside communities. Food and service are understated but very well done. Our stateroom was comfortable. The outside deck areas were easily accessible and great for viewing and photos. We enjoyed the casual atmosphere and the emphasis on the ports and scenery. There are other cruising itineraries for which I would choose a larger ship and a different cruiseline, but Hurtigruten offers a good choice for cruising the coast of Norway. We are looking forward to cruising again with them in 2016!
