First B2B

We just booked our first back to back. We will be on Carnival Breeze at Christmas.

Can anyone tell me exactly how a back to back works? I understand you get off the ship. What do you do when you get off? How long does it take? I assume you don't have to take any of your luggage off? Do you need to take documents for second cruise? Or do you check in for both the first time?

Any hints/suggestions on how much to pack? Do you usually just pack lite & do laundry on board?

Excited and nervous for this trip.

We did a B2B last July with the same room. Everything stayed in the room unpacked. We went to GS at 9:30 and were escorted off the ship to customs to turn in the forms and then escorted back on the ship and given new SnS cards. Five of us had the ship to ourselves for 2 hours.

You will get an envelope before the end of your first cruise instructing you on where to meet and what to do.

If you have the same cabin for both cruises, no need to pack or worry about luggage. If you DO NOT have the same cabin, you will need to pack up your stuff so your stateroom steward can transfer to your second cabin.

It is two separate cruises so you do not check in for both on the first cruise. The envelope they provide to you will tell you what to do. I was never asked for my second set of documents after the first cruise but it's a good idea to print and take with you anyways.

You get off the ship for a quick customs routine and then your own your way back to the ship.

Enjoy.

We have taken 2 B2Bs. The first was last year on the Victory in San Juan. We had to get off the ship, wait in the platinum area for our new cards even though we were not platinum, and then board with everyone as priority.

Last month we did a B2B on the Breeze. We met in the theatre and waited for about twenty minutes, then were walked to the lobby and waited another 10 to 15 minutes, then walked off the ship through customs then back onto the ship. Was on about 15 minutes before everyone else started to come on.
