grayjay Posted March 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2014 Our flight out of Miami airport doesn't leave till early evening. We don't really want to rent a car for the day but a reliable car service with a driver who shows us a bit of Miami with our luggage locked safely in their car and brings us to MIA airport in the afternoon would be most welcome. Any recommendations? Prices? Thank you for your answers.
JohninDC Posted March 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2014 Larry's Limos is often suggested on these boards for Miami service -- prices will depend upon how long you want the car, how far you want to go, and how big of a car you need.
Langoustine Posted March 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) And the driver may not know anything about Miami other than how to get from Point A to B. This could be a very expensive and boring day for you. You're really asking for two different things: a tour and transportation. I suggest you book them separately. There are many wonderful places (Bermuda, Greece, Spain, for example) where some taxi drivers are also highly-trained tour guides; the U.S., I'm afraid, is not one of them. grayjay Posted March 10, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted March 10, 2014 Thank you for your answers - sounds disappointing! Well, so it seems, we'll have to be content with either the cruise ship's transfer and/ or excursion or even wait out our time at the airport. JohninDC Posted March 10, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2014 From POM you can taxi to the MIA airport for $24+tip. At MIA you can store your bags for a fee (you cannot check them with the airline until 3-4 hours before your flight). From MIA you can catch the airport flyer bus to South Beach for only $2.35 each. Plenty to see and do - beach, people watching, lunch, drinks, shopping, art galleries, etc. Take the bus back to MIA, collect your bags, and enjoy your flight home. Good luck! :)
