We bought the cheers program when we were on the Fantasy on our last cruise l never considered us to be heavy drinkers but in the end if you considered what ww drank verses what we paid we saved money in the end and also tryed a big variety of drinks we normally wouldn't have before so yes it worked quite well for us

This post pretty much covers it all (don't have to read the whole thing but if you have a further question you can search the thread).

No, it is not all you can drink.

Whether it is worth it depends on what you drink and how much. For mixed drinks, I believe more than 6 or 7 a day will break even. Beer is a little more.

Also consider how much time you will spend on board. We looked at it for our Mediterranean cruise, however, with only two or three sea days on a 12 day cruise and long port days we weren't on the ship long enough to drink enough to make it worth it. Even our last 7 day cruise had 4 port days.

dwightnwynonia: Thanks for being the CC post police. I was replying to a comment made.

On Topic: I am trying to figure it out myself for my cruise in a month. Luckily I am solo and it is only 4 days, so I will probably try it and see if it is worthwhile since it won't be as expensive as a week traveling with somebody else.

The thing is, you have to think about is finding a break even point. Do you drink $9 drinks, or 5.75 well drinks? How much do you drink on the ship if you have a port-intensive itinerary?

For me personally, I tend to drink Bacardi which I think is 5.75. I don't drink the $9 martinis, so I need to drink alot more to make it worthwhile.

Also, if you drink heavily, they will possibly cut you off completely after 15, depending on the ship. Not even a possibility of purchasing more. The thread somebody else linked has a bunch of info, including current drink prices.

One word of advice . Watch your receipts on a couple occasions the drinks showed up as charges but when showed to the service desk they were removed so watch out for that. I think the drinks at the casino were ones we were charged for.

My wife and I did the Cheers program in January on the Breeze. We typically have several drinks a day, but we had a few more than what we would normally drink because we had the cheers program. We were on the 8 day itinerary and after drinking several drinks a day constantly for several days, your body kind of hates you after a while (at least it did for us)

We never hit our limit, but got close a couple times. We decided we will do Cheers on special occasions, but not every cruise.

We like either Mojitos on Lido (8.75 last year on the Breeze) and many of the special 9.95 drinks from Alchemy. It barely takes 5-6 at these prices to make the package more than worth it for us.

I agree that our bodies hated us after about day 6 of our 8 night sailing and that day we only had 2 each. Even with that day, and never reaching our limit on the program any other day, we still saved a lot of money. We probably had more than we would have without it but it made it so nice to feel all inclusive and not worry when we wanted to try different things.

We are doing it again in just over 2 weeks and look forward to no surprise bar bill at the end.

Have a great cruise . I have to agree on the body feeling rough by the end of the cruise I had given up on the frozen drinks and had gone to my old stand by Disaronno on the rocks :D
