Carnival Liberty BOOKED!

Had to let someone know... or in this case everyone! Just booked the Liberty, 8/22/14, Exotic E Caribbean itinerary! 1st cruise on the Liberty AND we've never been to any of these ports before. My DGF and I are sooo looking forward to it! Booked OV 2462, which is one of the L shaped cabins in the aft of the ship.

Anyone have any inside tips on the ship, cabin or ports of call on this cruise!?! We generally like to do our own thing in the port as we tend to believe ship sponsored excursions are on the expensive side.

I know there is a lot of Liberty love in this forum! Ready to experience some of that ourselves!

Don't be Jelly! Lol! I actually just read your Dream review and it was great! We will be on a W Caribbean trip in Feb 2015 and I'm looking forward to it!

Wooo! Jealous! We'll be sailing on the Liberty in 354 days. Yes, I'm already counting the days!

Will you be stopping in Roatan? Book a Victor Bodden tour and go explore the island. It is gorgeous!

The Liberty is my favorite Carnival ship, you'll love it. If your ports are HMC, St. Thomas and Puerto Rico, here are my opinions: HMC is beautiful. Try to get there early so you can get some pictures of just the beautiful island before everyone else gets there.

St. Thomas is one of my favorite islands. One thing we did there several years ago that I would do again, is book a snorkeling tour with Rumbaba. We had a wonderful day. They provided a small snack going out, lunch, and a snack on the way back. -- I had the fresh Mahi Mahi and my husband had the steak. Wonderful lunch! We went to two places to snorkel. Here's the link http://www.rumbabacharters.com/The-Crew.html and I see that Capt. Bobby no longer owns Rumbaba. Hopefully, it's still a wonderful tour.

Not much at Grand Turk, in my opinion and Puerto Rico...not my favorite either. We did walk up to the fort last year or may two years ago, but it is worth the walk. You can also take a bus or taxi there. I'm a history type person so I loved the fort.

Great info Terre! Thanks for you input. Our 8/22 cruise will be visiting Grand Turk, PR, St Thomas and St Marteen. I will look into the St. Thomas option you referecned below. That sounds like something I would enjoy and that intel is exactly what I was hoping for!

Yes we will be! Our ports are Roatan, Belize City, Costa Maya and Cozumel. Got a crazy cheap rate out of Tampa, where I live, thanks to CC price drop updates! Victor Bodden is a name that I continue to find all over the CC forums. I will absolutely look into that! Thanks for the lead!

Can't help with ports since we prefer western, but you've made a great ship choice! Liberty is great!

Don't miss the Mongolian Wok, fish n chips, pizza, Guy's burgers, comedy club, alchemy bar, Serenity area and blue iguana cantina. The hueveros rancheros at the cantina in the morning are great!!!!!!

Be sure to check on what group is playing on the promenade near the casino at night.

Also check if a movie looks good for a movie under the stars. The self serve 24 hr ice cream is great along with the hot chocolate at the buffet.

Can't wait to get back on.

Small world! I was eyeballing that cabin. It looks huge! I was happy to get the one I did. By the looks of it it is alos bigger than a standard OV. Never been in the aft before though... I know a lot of people seem to agree that it is a love/hate thing. I'm sure we will enjoy it! Let's share a drink or 4 in August!

Looks like you love you August cruises! I'm hoping the summer rush will be subsiding by the 22nd of August. How are your experiences with sailing around this time? Are the boats packed and what is the kid ratio like?

Congrats. I'm booked on the same cruise can't wait. :D

I'm in FL and school starts in my area before we cruise. Forgot that this varies greatyl depending on where you live. No worries though. We are easy goin' folks who always find our own fun! BTW, I've read your reviews and have always enjiyed them!

We cruise mid to late August every year. In the southern states, the children go back to school mid August, but there still will be quite a few children until after Labor Day.

We did this tour while in St. Thomas, It was nice two hours of shopping, a mini tour of the island and two at the beach. To us it was worth the 30 dollars. http://www.godfreytoursvi.com/

For Puerto Rico they had a trolly system that was free to use. I would say the forts were fun to walk around. At the time we went cost us 5 dollars for both forts.

My son and I really enjoyed the movies under the stars, they give out popcorn and blankets. Which was a nice touch.

I have done a Aft cabin on the Disney Dream and like people say, you only feel the vibration when docking at ports. Not a big deal for us. These rooms look HUGE! Looking forward to those drinks!
