Laurab23 Posted March 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2014 I am going on Splendor the end of the month.I am buying Cheers to try new stuff.I am not a big drinker. If I tell bartender different flavors I like (chocolate, banana, coconut, etc)will they give me some ideas of yummy drinks? I figure with Cheers this is a good time to try new drinks. Laura
Scotch Mist Posted March 31, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2014 I did exactly that when I was on the Splendor in January. Best bar to ask at is in the casino. They were brilliant!

diwanna Posted April 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2014 I did that and got a "pimms" with muddled fruit and ginger ale... I drank it the rest of the 2 week trip... :)

cruisingmoods Posted April 25, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 25, 2015 Just curious...does anyone know if the bars on Carnival still carry Pimms? If so, which bars on board have it stocked? Thanks!
etwright Posted April 25, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 25, 2015 Exactly! And my wife is asking the bartenders all the time.:D:cool:
trish1c Posted April 25, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 25, 2015 You can get some ideas before you go. You don't know what routine that bartender is stuck in. Also ask other passengers if you see somebody drinking something that looks yummy. Start reading the drink menus on the bars when you go out at home. Since you like chocolate, banana & coconut, you gotta have a BBC: a baileys, banana coloda. It tastes like a frozen liquid chocolate covered banana, I swear. :D
JillySue Posted April 26, 2015 #9 Share Posted April 26, 2015 I usually say "surprise me" a few times on each cruise and I'm never disappointed! One bartender, Mario on the Miracle, knew I liked frozen drinks and made me a Strawberry Cheesecake and a Toblerone. I kept seeking him out to get more, they were so good I practically stalked him, lol! :)
Izzybee Posted April 26, 2015 #10 Share Posted April 26, 2015 Yup! I did exactly the same last year, got Cheers and tried a bunch of stuff I'd never try if it wasn't prepaid. I has the best luck in bars that were less crowded - the pool bars were too busy to get the bartenders to have time, but the casino bar, the piano bar early in the night and the main atrium bar were great places to try new things. Thinking of doing the same thing on the upcoming cruise... Never had the alchemy bar before and can't wait to ask those bartenders for something fun :)
Jeremy1026 Posted April 26, 2015 #11 Share Posted April 26, 2015 If you aren't a drinker, I'd recommend not doing the Cheers package. I consider myself a drinker, and had a hard time spending more on my free drinks than what it would have costed to just buy them outright.

GUT2407 Posted April 26, 2015 #13 Share Posted April 26, 2015 My friend does this all the time, give me a drink with mango, pineapple and vodlka, sometimes when asked the bar tender says he has no idea if it has a name, he just made it up as he went.
