Port Everglades to the Fort Lauderdale airport?

We are sailing on the Carnival Freedom in June. We were curious about transportation options to get from the cruise port to the airport in Fort Lauderdale. (costs, times, contacts)

 

Any advice would be appreciated.

Port Everglades is about 10 minutes from FLL. Cab is the easiest.. Cost, probably around $20. You can get a cab right outside the exit from the customs area

Port Everglades and FLL are so close that they are visible from each other.

There were plenty of taxis at the port. Our taxi ride was less than 10 minutes and cost $10.00.

Taxi is the way to go. Took the shuttle last time, it cost more, and it took over 90 minutes from the time we had our bags until we were at cruise terminal. Could have walked there quicker :) YIKES!

I was on the Freedom, as you exit the shuttles are all lined up. Bypass the shuttle because they cost more and do not leave until full. Cabs are right across the street and we paid 14.00.

Agree, $20 for the 4 of us (three times now so far) and only 10 minutes.

We also used a taxi to and from the airport, however our driver from the airport to the ship apparently took the long way since that ride cost us $20 and the ride back to the airport was only about $12!!
