Use of International Data Plan for IPad mini in Tahiti

How is anyone with At &T able to receive and send data on an iPad mini in Tahiti?

It will be very expensive to use AT&T international data roaming in FP.

FP is on the Pay-Per-Use Rate of:

 

$0.0195/KB in Rest of World ($19.97/MB)

 

They have an interesting definition of "affordable world packages". I wonder what they would consider to be unaffordable.

 

With these rates, you are better off using WiFi, even if you have to pay for it. You can get free WiFi at some hotels and many restaurants. For example, in Moorea there is a small restaurant by the Hilton. Several of the hotel guests would come over for an inexpensive lunch and free WiFi. I could hear them Skyping their friends back home and telling them what a great time they were having.

Thanks for helpful reply. We sail on the Wind Spirit starting Monday for the Trans-Pacific to,Tahiti, then we do the cruise, Windstar Cruises are back in Tahiti, so excited. Happy Sailing everyone. Susanne
