I stayed in 10574 right next door a couple of weeks ago.

Very quiet area and it's mid-ship. Cabins above and cabins below which is another plus. Our cabin steward was outstanding.

Are you looking for anything specific?

Pics or what you just told me:) glad it's a quiet area! Ok only 222 more days (yes I am obsessed)

Other questions are did you feel much motion? And how tiny is the bathroom? Thanks for answering and feeding the obsession :D

Very little or no motion!!!! It rained one day for a few hours, and we were at the Spa in the front of the ship and could feel the waves, so we went back to our cabin (to take a nap) and we could barely feel anything. And that's another thing, if you can possible manage the fee for the Spa - DO IT!!!! We paid $338 for the 2 of us for 9 days. It was worth every penny! Never crowded and soooo relaxing.

The bathroom is small, but manageable.

This cabin is great for the sail away, perfect view of the Manhattan skyline and as soon as you pass by the World Trade Center - go right up top to pass by Lady Liberty and right under the Verrazano-Narrows bridge.

Eeekkkk so exciting! So we are on the right side to see NYC pass? That's awesome to know! (I am really slow with this stuff lol)

I have thought about the spa but pretty sure hubs wouldn't go and since it's a 10 year annv cruise I wouldn't want to spend half of it apart lol!

Super glad to hear about the motion I am a little nervous about the waves!

Thanks for all of the info!

I think the BEST place to be for sailaway from New York is topside on an open deck, where you will have the most expansive views and easily be able to walk back and forth, seeing NY and NJ and missing nothing.

As for your cabin, Deck 10 is a great deck on the Jewel class ships; you have cabins above and below you. The balcony cabins are the same (in terms of size) regardless of category; the difference is location. This is a balcony cabin on the Jewel; it will look pretty much the same on the Gem:

Thanks for the pics! So nice!

As for top side...which deck would you do? Seriously looking at the lay out is overwhelming lol :)

There are lots of outdoors spaces. The Great Outdoors is at the stern, but if you go up the stairs there and walk forward, there are many places to watch the NY skyline as you walk toward the bow of the ship.

Have fun. LOVE the Gem!
