fgresko Posted April 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2014 Just back from the Pride, April 20 sailing, we arrived at the pier around 1140, checked in and waiting to board by noon, on board and having lunch by 1245, we bought cheers the second day, if I could have just bought it for myself it would have been a great deal, but wife is not a drinker, I think we broke even or maybe a little less. We went to universal thru the ship, very efficient at the rope when it opened, plenty of time for us to see and do what we wanted to without feeling rushed, nice not to have to drive. Nassau and Freeport we stayed on the ship, we enjoyed serenity during this time while no one was around, we do not like it when it gests packed. Food was always very good, we had MTD and went 4 nights, 3 nights of those we had the same table, which was great, we ate one night in the steakhouse, very good. Always played bingo, never won, but we find it amusing. We enjoyed the piano bar, and liked to sit and listen to the band and the guitar players in the casino and the lobby. Having been on 8 carnival cruises, and 10 on other lines, we have seen and heard all the jokes. Love and Marriage show even gets old. Carnival really needs to change up there shows, past guests like us are getting bored with the main shows they offer. Legends was funny, that's always different because it features guests. We think it will be our last Carnival for a while, we are going to do the mega ships on RCCL, and want to try the breakaway on NCL. Any questions, will be happy to try to answer. bunchesofun Posted April 28, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2014 Going on our third cruise on the Pride. Have been to one comedy show, no other events so don't know about them but imagine they would get old. We love the Pride.
fgresko Posted April 28, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted April 28, 2014 The comedy club is small, in a small lounge under the main showroom, they switched out the comedians halfway thru, there shows were very funny, setting is like clubs in Philly, close up and personal, went to as many as we could. catz821 Posted April 28, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 28, 2014 Only 3 of the 4 generators were working last month. Was this fixed on your cruise? Did you experience any problems? I am thinking of this cruise out of Baltimore in June. Thanks!
Rare sparks1093 Posted April 28, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 28, 2014 Thanks for the review. We'll be on the Pride for the second time next year and DW will want to win a ship on a stick so we'll trying to do that (our last time out she didn't know about the SOS until half way through the cruise so we missed participating in many events to try to win one). poppadevan Posted April 28, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 28, 2014 Did you notice who is singing in the Ivory Piano Bar? We loved Roger on past cruises. He is great? Thanks for your feedback and review.
Silverspringcruiser Posted April 28, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 28, 2014 We're on the May 25th sailing. What's the big musical revue?
fgresko Posted April 28, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted April 28, 2014 the big show is called Vroom roger is still in the piano bar, he was a lot of fun No troubles with generators, he hit cruising speed of 22 knots, which I think is max for that ship.If they had any problems, no one was aware of them. All port times were accurate.
