champagne123 Posted May 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2014 Watching the webcam for the Splendor pulling into NYC. Both my sons are on the ship with their girlfriends. I have the news on and geeeezzz..I hear.... "The Splendor airlifted 2 men off the coast for "medical issues" in the middle of the night. No other info. Of course, as a mom, I go into a panic. :( I know, I know, the chances of it being my sons are 2 in 3006 passengers. Has anyone heard anything? ml427 Posted May 12, 2014 #8 Share Posted May 12, 2014 I hope they purchased trip insurance that covered medical... An evac can cost 20,000 to be taken off the ship Although I always carry med evac insurance jic. If the USCG did the evacuation then the bill is funded by the United States taxpayers. ccruisequeen Posted May 13, 2014 #10 Share Posted May 13, 2014 One gentleman was airlifted from the imagination during our cruise. Our CD made an announcement to stay away from the Verandah deck to allow for the helicopter to land. Our karaoke host said he assisted in taking the guy to the medical facilities.
