FLL to POM

I've seen this question asked many times, but I can't seem to find anything recent.

Need some advice on car rentals to get from FLL to POM and then from POM back to FLL. Planning on renting a car, because it is much cheaper than cruise or airport transfers and taxis from the airport. I am seeing many car rental companies offering POM shuttles, but do you have to drop of at MIA or do some have drop-off/pick-up locations closer to POM? What is the easiest company to do this through. Any advice? THANKS!

National, Alamo and Thrifty offer free POM shuttels to/from their MIA airport location -- I find this easier than trying to drive in downtown Miami traffic.

 

Hertz in downtown Miami offers free POM shuttles but it is a small location and is often overwhelmed by cruisers - be prepared to wait. :(

We are doing Avis on Thursday, picking up at FLL, dropping off at their downtown Miami location this Saturday. They have a shuttle to take you to POM. if the line is crazy, we will take a cab. We are doing the reverse, the following Saturday.

SAS Transport $15 pp. Shuttle from FLL to POM

I'm not sure how many people in your travel party but its a great price without the hassle of the car.
