tourgide Posted August 3, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2005 I am trying to understand the OBC use. If I have OBC when I arrive on the ship, am I able to use them for the charges at the end of the cruise for the 'tipping' charges automatically charged to my account? mii Posted August 3, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 3, 2005 Yes you can. Each day the computer automatically takes $10.00/per person (that is for cabin steward, waiter and assist waiter) If you order drinks, buy gifts etc that will also be taken off of your sail card that is also your key to cabin. At the end of the trip you will receive the nite before you get off of ship a statement. If there is monies due you have to pay up at the pursers desk. Charliesmom Posted August 3, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2005 You can also use your obc for excursions or for Internet use (unless you are a Platinum or Elite Captain's Club member - for whom the Internet is free) or for the photo gallery. If you want to buy a piece of jewelry in the gift shop, you can use it for that. Whatever is charged to your account can be paid for with the on board credit, provided it is large enough. cruisequeen10 Posted August 3, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 3, 2005 I would double check to see if the tips would be deducted from the shipboard credit. Some other lines don't allow this. It is completely separate.
coiran Posted August 3, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2005 Tips can be deducted - I have been doing it for some time - most recently in February on the Star. Ron
