Yacht Club vs. Aqua

We are frequent Celebrity Aqua cruisers and love it. Unfortunately we only have a short window for a trip this summer and Celebrity has abandoned the Caribbean. The yacht club looks right up our alley and is quite a reasonable upgrade. How would you compare it with the Aqua experience ? Thanks

I have never sailed Celebrity so I can only comment on the Yacht Club unfortunately. Here is a list of the amenities included in the Yacht Club, perhaps you can compare them to your amenities you receive in the Aqua Club aboard Celbrity:

· 24-hour Butler service

· Concierge services round-the-clock

· Suite amenities which include

o Fine wood finishes

o European king bed convertible to two single beds

o Memory foam mattress

o Egyptian cotton sheets

o Extensive pillow menu

o Walk-in closet with safe

o Marble bathrooms featuring tub with shower and hair dryer

o Courtesy use of luxury MSC Yacht Club bathrobes and slippers

o Complimentary en suite mini-bar

o 24-hour room service

o Television

o Nintendo Wii console

o Choice of daily newspaper in its original format

o Internet connection (fees apply)

o Direct-dial telephone (fees apply)

· Complimentary wines and spirits, beers, and soft drinks in all MSC Yacht Club venues

· Open-seating dining in private MSC Yacht Club restaurant (La Palmeraie aboard MSC Preziosa, Le Muse aboard MSC Divina, L’Olivo aboard MSC Splendida, L’Etoile aboard MSC Fantasia)

· The One Pool, Bar & Grill featuring a shaded swimming pool, spa baths, solarium and a superbly-stocked bar

· Top Sail Lounge, offering a varied selection of delicious complimentary drinks, gourmet delicacies and desserts throughout the day and night

The private service and private areas in yacht club would be unlike anything in Celebrity Aqua Class. Yacht Club has it's own dining room (like Aqua Class) but it also has its own lounge and pool area. There are butlers everywhere all the time to help you. They will escort you off the ship at each port. You bypass any lines for getting on and off the ship. The rooms have a tub/shower, walk in closet and butler service. If it is comparable to Aqua class pricing and you like the itinerary then pick MCS yacht club. Drinks are free within the yacht club areas so there is no need to buy a beverage package. The room service menue is much better on Celebrity - pretty much non existent on MSC. We were in yacht club one week in February and then Celebrity Reflection Conceirge Class the second week. We enjoyed both.

I have been on both, enjoyed both. the cabins are bigger in the YC and sound proof. the both have spa entrances and access. MSc does less announcements then celebrity. Food about the same. room service, I found the food was cold on Celebrity and hot on msc

Thanks for the feedback. Looking for a little more detail. What is the restaurant like, is it similar to Blu in size ? Is the food the same as MDR, selections varied ? Is there any entertainment in the Yacht Club venues and what is the quality of the bar selection ? Sorry for all the requests but just trying to make an informed choice.

I have been invited 'up' to dine in Yacht Club a couple of times from 'steerage'. The menus are exactly the same but the presentation and service is better. The Yacht Club restaurant is small - it can perhaps accommodate a hundred or so but there were only around 20-30 when I was there.

What surprised me was how casually people were dressed even on a 'Gala' (formal) night. The rest of the ship was black tie but this felt like an an out-of-town diner because of the way people were dressed and behaved. I still can't decide whether it was because they thought themselves superior and could behave however they wanted or if it was that they they were socially uncomfortable and felt they had to pay extra money for Yacht Club so they would not be judged. I really can't decide. it was really quite weird.

I would love the butler service of Yacht Club but I would choose to eat in steerage for the better ambience, social manners and overall dining experience.

Thankfully, you can go Yacht Club and still be allowed access to the MDRs.

Very similar to Blu ( I was not crazy about Blu). I found Blu a bit dark, and I don't believe alcohol was included.

Service was the same or better than Blu, you can come anytime you wish. I found only 2-3 selections in menu, but in the anytime menu, chicken, steak, salmon. The Bar had brand names, and I heard if you request they would get a brand. Mini Bar which is replenished twice a day,
