Does the 3-5 age group dress up as pirates and parade around the ship? I know my oldest did when he was in the 6-8 group a few years ago. My youngest will be 5 when we cruise in November and wasn't sure if this age group dressed up.

DS was 5 on our last Royal Caribbean cruise on Explorer of the Seas. They did dress up as pirates one night and parade around the ship. I remember seeing him when I was in the promenade. This was 3.5 years ago.

Last week on Freedom of the Seas they actually had TWO pirate parades! The first night it was the 3-5 year old age group and the second night it was the 6-9 year olds. Adorable! All the kids looked like they were having a blast! :)

Do you have to bring a pirate costume on board? How do we find out if they have this activity on our sailing?

Thanks,

Lois

No pirate costume needed. They decorate a handkerchief as part of the evening activity, and wear that. They will also do some face paint eye patches and beards if the kids want. We've been cruising RCI for 10 years, and it's been on every ship we've sailed on no matter how long.
