how soon can you board

For whatever reasons, my DW likes to be among the first to board when ever we cruise.

That's fine with me. As quickly as they can get the passengers off, and set things up, they can begin boarding for the next group[. Noon is a go to time, sometimes a bit earlier, sometimes a bit later.

Cheers

Depending on where you are boarding and what you have done already, it might be really wise to board later than earlier. In Whittier and Seward the sailing time is in the evening. It would be a shame for most people to board early and miss the opportunities that those towns offer just be on the ship early. Remember too that when sailing from either of these towns, the first day is pretty much all scenic sailing, so you have all evening and the next day to explore the ship.

If the ship is your primary reason for sailing, board early. If experiencing Alaska is your primary reason for sailing, board later and enjoy Alaska!

We were in Seward this past week and got on board around 2:00. There was NO wait time. It was literally 5 minutes from the time we got off the city shuttle until we were walking on board. If you go when any of the trains/busses are coming in, you are going to have a bit of a wait.
