Piraeus X80 Express Bus to Athens

We have a half-day tour with a roll call group, but we want to stay in Athens until about 3:30 p.m. and take the Express Bus 80 back to the ship. Where

EXACTLY does the #80 stop near Syntagma Square for the return trip? Will we be able to get the tickets from the driver, or is there a place to buy the 4.50 E tickets near the stop?

Scroll down the page to where the names of the stops are shown. Click on "Syntagma" and it will show you a map. Basically the stop is at the opposite side of the square from the Parliament building, near McDonalds.

You can buy the ticket from the driver or in the vending machines at the metro.

If you only need it one way, you might be better off taking regular public transportation. If you walk around town, you can take a metro from Monastiraki to port and then move onto a bus (for only 1.8€)

Thanks for the suggestion to take the Metro plus a bus. Do you know which bus leaves from the port metro station to the cruise line terminals? This really sounds like the best plan for us.

It stops just outside the McDonald's across from the plaza as that's where we got off two weeks ago.
