We cruise Port Canaveral quite often, and always use a rental car. We find reasonably priced gas stations all along Atlantic Blvd. The closest to the port is very near the Residence Inn, less than a mile south of the causeway.

Can I second that opinion

I'm conflicted on this one like some of you, and this conversation seems to come up every so often. Port Everglades is just much, much easier. Fly into FLL, quick hop to a hotel on 17th street, pick up some last minute items, eat nearby, quick and inexpensive hop to PE to board the ship in the morning. Easy.

However, we really like Miami as a city, and the sailaway from POM cannot be beat. Even though we always fly into FLL we can still get down to Miami relatively inexpensively.

Solution? We miss Miami so we're going to spend a couple of nights there before our next Oasis cruise. I'm looking forward to it.
